Fourteen

Calum's POV

My breath hitched in my throat when I heard a door slam. I looked up from my knees and moved a little so I could see if someone was in the room.

I was currently huddled up in a ball behind a huge bookshelf hiding from that dude who supposedly is named "Dylan."

When I saw him walk around the corner and into the hallway with a knife in his hands I began too have a panic attack so I ran into the closest room and now here I am.

I clamped my hand over my mouth too try too quiet my fast breathing when I heard the door open.

"Calum?" An all too familiar voice echoes through the dark room.

"Ashton! Oh my god!" I cry as I get up from my position and run over too where I see Ashton hunched over.

I frowned when hearing his uneven breathing and his hands clutched into his black shirt.

"What's wrong? Are you hurt?" I asked kneeling down so I could see Ashton's face.

"Y-yes, Someone stabbed and-" He was about too continue but I cut him off. "Wait, was it Luke who stabbed you?" Anger began too bubble up inside me.

"N-no! He tried too strangle me but I'm okay! I-I'm okay," He looked ready too pass out right then and there when he finished his sentence so I grabbed onto his shoulders and looked at him straight in the eye.

"Ashton! Don't you dare close your eyes!" I begged.

"I'm gonna die! I'm gonna fricken die!" He cried.

I clenched my jaw and shut my eyes taking a deep breath before saying. "Don't you dare say that! Your not gonna die! You're gonna be perfectly fine!"

He laid down on the floor and took heavy breaths. "Calum, I'm sorry. Tell Michael and Luke I love them, I love you," He smiled slightly before his eyes fluttered closed and a puff of air escaped his lips.

"No!" I cried clutching onto his shirt and burying my face in his hair.

"Ashton! Wake up! WAKE UP!" I sob.

I suddenly let go of Ashton and scream in frustration. "He can't be dead, not like this!" I muttered as I hung my head low.

I stand up and head straight toward the door. "I love you Ashton," Was the last thing I said before opening the door and leaving my dead best friend.
