'I don't know what you're doing to me, mon chérie, but the truth catches up with us eventually.'
Four days. Four days when I last seen Patrick and I really miss him.
He calls me every night, though. I'm just glad he's enjoying his trip. Mikey let me stay with him and Dallon while Patrick's away since I get really lonely without my beloved soulmate around.
"I'm so fucking bored, Michael." I sprawl across Mikey's lap as he watches TV. Even though he looks like a stick, he's not that bony.
"Don't call me that. Do something." His eyes are still fixated on The Walking Dead.
"I'm lazy. And booored." I continue to whine, playing the hem of the couch. "Can we go to Gerard's or something?"
At this point, I don't know if I'm just imagining it or not but Mikey stiffens at the mention of Gerard. He drops his hand on my back and starts to claw softly. It feels good.
"Gerard's not here. He's on a business trip for commissions. He won't be back until the day after tomorrow." He says, finally looking down at me.
Mikey's eyes look blank. I don't know why but I just noticed it. His irises don't give me any sense of emotion. Half of the time I can't read what he's feeling so I guess that's it. Does he feel anything at all?
He rarely smiles too, unless he's around Dallon. Even before in school, I can't recall any memory when Mikey showed us a natural smile or even a hearty laugh. It's always either a smirk, a very small smile or just a plain blank face. What happened to this guy?
I decide to drop the Gerard topic and just stare at him. Mikey stares back, still scratching my back in an even pattern. Two scratches per second.
His eyebrows begin to knit together. "Why are you staring at me?"
"Nothing." I reply. He averts his eyes to the TV again.
"How are you and Patrick, anyways? You stay here a lot. Did you two fought or something?"
"We're fine. He's just really busy."
He stops scratching and turns off the TV. "Busy? On what?"
Mikey sounds like he doesn't believe it. I sit up, facing him. "W-work."
He nods slowly, still frowning. "Do you think he's starting to drift away? You know, like feeling a little less love?"
"Sometimes."
I don't know what Mikey's up to. I answer him truthfully, though I'm not sure if it'll benefit anything. It's like he knows something, but doesn't want to tell me. Like, at all.
Patrick does start to drift away. He now prefers going out instead of his usual ways like staying in and eat ice cream. We never talk anymore like we used to. We only utter words to each other in the late night before we go to bed and if I wake up early enough to see him dress for the day. I can't remember the last time he kissed me long enough to make me go under his skin. Come to think of it, he doesn't want to be touched most of the time.
And all that started when Gerard borrowed a fucking book that day. I'm still waiting for the day Patrick opens up to me about his history with Gerard. Maybe I should just ask the redhead when he comes back from his commission work.
"Wanna bring back the good old days?" Mikey asks, flashing me a small smile.
"Yeah. How?" Why do I feel this is going to flop?
"When Patrick comes back, make him cancel all his plans and just take the dude everywhere that you know you and him will enjoy. Make it count. Take pictures. Kiss him. Show him how much he means to you and how much you love him. That'll take your course back to normal."
I raise my brows, "And if this still fails?"
Mikey looks down on his lap. "Then you two are far gone."
