By morning, everyone was up earlier than normal.
Emma still seemed a little shaken.
"Jace, why don't you go ahead and put our suitcases in the car."
He nodded, and walked away.I walked over to where Emma sat on the Living Room couch.
"Are you ok Honey?"
She nodded, looking up at me.
"I understand how crazy this is... and how fast we're rushing into this..."
Emma stood. "No Mom... really... I'm fine."
I hugged her tightly. "You're so strong," I muttered. Then, Jace walked in through the open front door. He was smiling. "Alright. All packed up. Into the car we go. Let's hit the Airport!"
It felt a bit odd to see Jace this excited. But I guess that he was thinking about fighting again.
Just like the good old days, I thought. When we where killing Demons and fighting a war..."Come on Emma, let's go before your Father loses what little marbles he has left."
Emma smiled for once, and followed me out the door.
