~Chapter 38~

-Serena's POV-

When I wake up I'm on a large bed, with a major headache. I barely manage to sit up, but when I do I see Ash sitting right in front of me. I jump backwards slightly and hit my head on the headboard.

Ash: "Did I scare ya?"

Me: "Why are you in here?"

Ash: "I've been waiting for you to wake up, to do this"

Ash then scoots closer until I'm looking straight into his eyes. He then grins and gently places his lips onto mine. I try to pull away, but Ash is really stubborn and won't stop. He then stops and looks at me straight in the eyes. He winks and scoots back, with me looking slightly red.

Ash: "You have the first few weeks here off to get used to the environment, thanks to me. Try to take some time out of your room. Also I will be checking on you occasionally after today, but today I have to check over you for the whole day."

He then gets off the bed and places a set of clothing for me.

Ash: "You might wanna put those on, too"

Me: "Alright"

I get out of bed and put it on, feeling more relieved than before.

Ash: "That suit contains all your powers that we took yesterday. It can be used on anyone but Team Flare, making it impossible to beat us with your powers."

I honestly wasn't listening to him because I was still kinda sore, so I went back onto the bed and shoved my face into a pillow.

Ash: "Are you even listening?"

I shake my head and he sighs.

Ash: "Serena, what can I do to make you listen?"

Me: "You can let me out of this place and give me my Pokemon back."

Ash: "I'm afraid I can't do that. Your pokemon being used in the lab for... purposes."

I stop and think for a second, then I think about what they could be doing to them. It gets me angry. I grab Ash by the collar and look at him straight in the eyes, my voice is trembling.

Me: "What are you doing to them..?"

Ash: "Can't tell you, little lady."

I let go of Ash and tears well up in my eyes and I hug him tightly as I cry. I sobbed as Ash hugged me back, I then felt a tear drop onto my shoulder. I look up at Ash to see him too, crying.

Me: "W-Why are you crying?"

Ash:"I just can't stand see you like this"

I then get more sad for making Ash sad, which results to more crying. I grab onto Ash's shirt.

Me: "*quietly* can you leave please?"

Ash: "What was that?"

Me: I said can you please leave?

Ash: "Why?"

Me: "I just want to be left alone."

Ash then gets up and cleans his face up and goes back to me. He wipes the tears out of my eyes and kisses my forehead. I smile at him and he smiles back.

Ash: "I'll be back, don't do anything crazy."

Me: "I won't"

He then leaves the room and I cover myself with the sheets and then fall asleep.

*Ash's POV*

I stood outside of Serena's door, receiving looks from people passing by. I see another Team Flare member go up to Lysandre, I sneak closer to hear their conversation.

Worker: "But boss, how come the newbie gets to watch over Serena?"

After the guy said that Lysandre got really irritated.

Lysandre: "I've told you before. It's because he is the only one Serena will listen to. I've tested other employees and he's the only one she responds to. Now shoo!"

I scoot back to where I was, whistling. Lysandre passes by and sees me.

Lysandre: "Hey, what're you doing outside of her room and not watching her?"

Me: "Sir, she wanted to be left alone."

Lysandre: "It doesn't matter! Go back in there and watch her!"

Me: "But, s-"

He then comes up to my ear and whispers.

Lysandre: "Go back in there or you'll end up like your friends.."

He backs away as I hurry back in the room, hearing various snickers and mutters around the room. Once I'm inside her room, I see that she's asleep. I walk over to the bed and sit on it. She honestly looked so cute, she was even smiling in her sleep. I poke her cheek to see if she's awake, she doesn't respond. So I get close to her face and gently place my lips on hers. A few seconds after her eyes flutter open, she looks at what I'm doing and her eyes are wide open. She pulls away and blushes and jumps up.

Serena: "W-What're you doing?!"

Me: "uhh, nothing."

I feel like I'm gonna go crazy. I left them. I left there to die. I didn't want to do it. I had to do it. It was my only chance. My only chance of living to this day. This is worse than dying. Feeling this aching pain in my chest. The tears streaming down my face. The feeling of wanting to rip the hair out of my head. It's sickening. I want to die. I'd rather rid myself from this world than be alive to see it another day. I have no other reason to be on the planet anymore. I have too many regrets to live on Earth anymore. I won't regret dying.
