"Who are they?" Ironclad says shifting his hand into a massive sword."How should I know?" I say, my hands still covering Rush's bullet wounds.
"Is...is it the paramedics?" Rush mumbles, wincing in pain as Neon is healing his wounds with bright pink energy.
"We have to get off the battlefield! I can't heal here!" Neon says as she stops healing Peter to blast a Yellowjacket away from her.
A grunt sneaks up behind Neon and cocks his gun, before I can react an arrow made of sky blue energy strikes his chest and then shatters on impact, breaking the soldier's armor. I grab him and pin him to the ground with concrete restraints.
"You handle yourself pretty good out here!" The person who shot the arrow says. It's the girl from earlier with the bow. She must have some sort of energy manipulation power or something. That would be pretty awesome to have....
She creates a shortsword of energy and stabs a grunt. "You know the whole city thought you were dead, or you, Fusion that is, just left them." She forms a large machine gun in her hand and blares bullets of energy at the men around her.
"You know who I am?" I slam a guard into a car with telekinesis and the vehicle explodes, sending shrapnel flying everywhere.
"Everyone knows who you are. The kid with the power to steal, and keep I might add, an assortment of amazing powers. And also the guy who abandoned the city in its time of need."
An energy baseball bat materializes in her hand and she smacks a Yellowjacket across the helmet before blasting him with a ball of energy.
"Well thanks, I guess, but I didn't abandon the city. Purge was experimenting on me, my friends, and my slightly villainous pals over there." Tidal's spear flies inches from my face, but I dodge it and it hits a grunt in the chest.
"See?! Evil!" Tidal laughs and drags the guy towards him.
"Hey you may know me," I say curiously as I crack a grunts chest piece. "But I don't know you. What's your name?"
"My name is Sam." She makes sub-machine guns and shoots everyone around her. "But my friends call me Hummingbird."
"Why is that?" I reply.
"Well..." Then she creates large wings of energy on her back and hovers above the ground.
"Wow. That is..." I look at her astonished as she flies around.
"Pretty sweet, huh?" She smiles, flies and picks up a soldier, rises high up in the air, and drops him. Then she dives down to me and lands.
"Look, we have a safe house away from here. We can patch up your buddy Pete." She makes a whip of energy and swings it at two men.
"Can you take us there now?" I blast a bolt of electricity from my arm into a grunt and he stumbles.
"Yeah, I can take you there if you'll get all your friends and bring them next to us." She makes a crowbar and knocks out the grunt in front of me.
"Um...why do I need to do that?"
"Just...trust me okay?" She says looking at me seriously.
