I open my eyes to see a greenish water flowing around me. I'm drowning. Wait, no, there's an oxygen mask on my face and needles stuck in me and they're connecting me to this....this weird machine.

I'm in a tank of water and I float there. Needles are going throughout my body, draining my blood. It hurts. A lot. I try screaming but no one can hear and only bubbles come from the oxygen mask on my face.

I bang on the small glass window on the pod's door. Nothing happens. This must be where those lame villains were supposed to take me...Then the fluids recede into a grate below me. I am left standing completely drenched and freezing in nothing, but a white sleeveless shirt and some shorts.

The needles eject from my body and the pain is barely bearable. I can see how long and sharp they are and a chill is sent through my bones. Then the mask opens and falls off my face. What is this...where is this? Everything is hazy and then the door opens.

The door lifts up and hot steam rises out of the chamber and I fall on the ground. I feel dazed and dizzy as if I'll puke at any given moment. This must be what a hangover feels like...I'm in a white room.

I stumble over to what seems to be a window and peer through it. It stretches from one side of the wall to another. I peer through it and see a couple other tanks in a room across from me, past what seems to be a long corridor.

I scan them to see many unrecognizable faces I've never seen before. I keep looking through the glass and see familiar faces floating there at the end of a row of tanks. Tommy and Violet, floating there, lifeless. Please be okay.

"I'm gonna get you guys out of here!" I punch the glass with all my strength but it doesn't even shake. I expected it to shatter, but it was like it just absorbed the power.

Then I try hitting the walls but I only make my knuckles bleed. I try ramming the door, but still...nothing. Then I hear a voice.

"You cannot break the cell, Mr.Carter." A man says over what seems to be a speaker. "Everything surrounding you is made of an indestructible alloy that I designed myself. It absorbs the effects of powers and is impervious to you. There is no escaping this place."

"Who are you!" I yell loudly. "What are you doing with my friends!!!?"

"That's not important now. What is important is that I need you. You see, you are a very special specimen. A rare breed of superhuman. You have the power to absorb and actually keep powers, unlike your father, who could merely use telekinesis."

"What are you talking about!? How did you know my father!?"

"Your father and I were good friends until superpowered people started showing up. We were scientists, dedicated to making the world a better place. We wanted to improve it and fix it. You see, your father, Joseph, was always fascinated with the idea of powers, me on the other hand, I saw them as a threat. When people started getting the genetic mutation for powers or they fell in a vat of toxic waste and came out with the power of gods your father wanted to study them, embrace them. He thought that they were meant to protect us, he thought they were the future of humanity. I knew it was far worse than that. People with powers have to be stopped. They are freaks of nature, with powers they cannot comprehend. Your father immediately started conducting a serum that could possibly grant people powers. I was secretly working on a way to take them away permanently. One day while your father and I were conducting research Joseph put in a key ingredient for the serum, as it was dropped in the vile there was a chemical reaction and the entire lab exploded."
