To get an Oscar I first had to audition for a movie.  The audition was in a week and I had to get ready for my audition. The movie was called "Britannic" a movie about the sister ship of the Titanic. I really wanted to do this movie because my dad was in the movie "Titanic" so I really wanted to be in this movie. I was auditioning as the part of Vera Campbell in the movie. I really wanted the part so I am trying to vigorously study my lines so that I will do good in the audition.

It was one day until the audition. I was really nervous. I wanted to make my dad proud. I wanted my dad to realize that I am capable of auditioning for a movie and then get cast into it. My character was hard to get into. She was a brave woman and I had to be brave to get the part. Well I am brave considering that I auditioned for this movie. I had to get the part, I had to. I am trying to convince myself that I must do my best to get this part. I was my dream, it was my acting dream, it is my goal, and something that I must aspire to do. It's something my dad would be proud of me for doing and something I would be proud of myself for doing.

It was finally the day of the auditioning. I had been practicing my lines for a week. I was so caught up in practicing that when I went out to coffee with my friend I practiced my lines with her. After awhile I  on practicing my lines because the New York City traffic made it incredibly hard to say my lines so Emily could hear them. We had to then go back to my apartment after we had coffee and then we practiced my lines. We couldn't concentrate. So we just ended up talking and we never even finished the first scene.
Now I was more ready than ever. I practiced my lines more than I ever have before. I knew that this movie was going to get an Oscar since the Titanic got so many Oscars. All of a sudden while I was looking through my lines again I heard someone say "Maria!". Then I got up and walked toward the door. I had a hop in my step that was uncalled for and I almost tripped. I don't know why I was so excited because I haven't gotten the part yet. As soon as I got to the door the man asked if I was Maria and I answered with a hearty yes. It was my turn to audition, it was my turn to make it, it was my turn to prove to the world who I was. Then I walked in slowly to see the casting people. They looked serious but had smiles on their faces like they were faking it. They were only trying to make the people who were auditioning feel comfortable but I could see right through their fake smile.
"Name please." one of the casting people said.
"Oh. My name is Maria Dicaprio." I said as they stared at me with their beaming eyes.
"Maria Dicaprio? As in Leonardo Dicaprio's Daughter, Maria Dicaprio?"
"Yeah. That would be me. Leonardo Dicaprio's ... daughter. "
"Wow, this part is perfect for you. You now just have to audition to see if the part is perfect for you."
"Okay. Where do I start?"
"You will start at when the ship is bombed."
"Okay."
"You can start. Wait. Ready?"
"Yeah."
"Okay. Action!"
I started my part. I felt that I was doing good. I was saying my lines as if my character were actually here. Then all of a sudden one of the casting people told me to go.
Did I do bad? Did I do something wrong? Why was he telling me to go? I only finished half of my scene? Was that all they had to see?
I was unsure if I did good or not. I was unsure if my practicing was worth it. I Was unsure if I would make my father proud of me.
    ⋯
It was a month later and I hadn't heard back from them. Then I heard my phone ring. I was surprised, I thought it was just a call from a friend. I picked up the phone and they started talking.
"Are you Maria Dicaprio?" they asked.
"Yeah. Who is this?" I responded in a questioning voice.
"It's the casting director. The casting director for the movie Britannic."
    "Oh. Hi."
"I would like to tell you that you got the part."
    "Really?"
    "Yeah. You got the part."
"Oh my God. Thank you so much. Thank you for giving me this part."
"So we will start filming in two weeks. We will call you back with more information."
"Thank you so much for this part."
"Thank yourself, you're the one who auditioned and got the part."
    "Thank you. Bye."
    "Bye."
I was so happy. I got the part that I had wanted. Now it was time to star in a movie.

One day I got a package in the mail. I was confused because I hadn't ordered anything. I opened with great uncertainty. I then saw a packet of paper. The frond was printed in the bold letters Britannic and under the title my name Maria Dicaprio and the name of my character Vera Campbell. I was excited. I may have the chance of winning an Oscar.

We were finally filming. The filming was hard. We had to do a couple retakes, but everybody makes mistakes at some time. I was saying my lines as if I was Vera Campbell. I had to be Vera Campbell in order to convince people that I could be Vera Campbell. I wanted to be able the tell the audience her story. I also wanted to win an Oscar for best actress.
                      ⋯
The first two months of filming were finally over. There were only ten months to go. The movie was coming along very well. We were finally in the part of the movie where we actually get on the ship.
                      ⋯
The first six months of filming were done. We finally got to the climax of the movie and we were half way done. Only six months until we would be done.
                                                            ⋯
The first nine months of filming were over. We were on the part where the ship was bombed. It will take one month to film this part.
                      ⋯
It was the twelfth and we were almost done with the movie. We were on the final scene.
                      ⋯
It was finally the last day of filming. I was relieved yet sad that it was over. I was happy that it was over but I wished that I could do it over again. It was an experience that was tiring but fun.
The director finally said "That's A Wrap!"
It was finally over. the movie was over and it was being released into theatres in two months.
                      ⋯
It was two months later and the movie was released. It was rated PG-13 because there was some things in the movie that couldn't be rated as PG. I looked on the movie rating websites to see it was rated a 4.2 out of 5. that rating was good then on another website it was 4.5 stars out of 10. i was happy. I might actually might win an Oscar. The Oscars were in six months and I was happy.
                                                      ⋯
The Oscars were in three months and the movie was getting good reviews.

                     ⋯
There was one day until the Oscars and I was nominated for best actress.
                                                             ⋯
It was the day of the Oscars and I was happy. I may not win because I was going up against Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lawrence, and Jessica Alba. I wanted to win I had to win.
It was finally time for them to announce best actress. I was scared that I wouldn't win.
Then the announcer said "The winner of the Oscar for best Actress...... is Maria Dicaprio."
I was so happy. That was my name. They said my name. My name was Maria Dicaprio. They said I won the Oscar. I was so happy. I got up and started walking towards the stage. This was the happiest time of my life. I walked up to the stage and they handed me the Oscar. The Oscar was so heavy. I then said my acceptance speech that I barely prepared.
I said breathlessly and excitedly "I would like to thank the Academy. I would also like to thank my mom for being so loving. I would most like to thank my dad for giving me the inspiration to start auditioning for movie. He is such a great actor. I am so happy to have finally to won an Oscar. I am so thankful. Thank you, thank you so much."
I saw my dad in the crowd and he was smiling at me. I was happy.
