Their room was pitch black, and all was silent save the rhythm of their slow breaths mingling in the night. Levi could feel the soothing warmth of Eren's chest against his back and his arms around Levi's waist. He was surprised to feel a warm drop of a liquid on his neck. Was Eren... Crying?
"Eren, what's wrong?" Levi asked softly, voice gentle as it often was when the two of them were alone in the dark.
"Nothing." Levi was about to argue, but Eren continued. "I'm just glad you're here." Levi's face got warm and he smirked into the dark.
"Of course you are." He brought Eren's hand up to his face and kissed it. Eren, in response, nuzzled his face into Levi's neck.
"I love you."
"I love you too, shitty brat. Now go to sleep."
