Chapter 16: The Tears that which Maki changed

Flashback

Nico's tears falls again and she rubbed it but the tears are coming back, she just hug Maki tightly "Maki-chan you Idiot!" Nico said. So then Maki hugged back with her smile on her face.

Nico suddenly cut their hugged "Eh?... Wait, Maki-chan... Your cancer is on stage 2 right?..." Nico asked. Maki nodded as she answer "Yeah".

Nico got suddenly her eyebrow raised and got confused "Then if your Cancer is Stage 2... Then why is 6 days are only left in your body?" Nico asked with her disappointing look.

Maki look at Nico's eyes in a gloomy way "Nico-chan the truth is..."

" Papa, what's my condition?" I asked. Then Papa accompanied me to the room which where he's checking me "Maki, Your cancer is already in stage 2... I know this weird/strange but... You have 6 days left to live, my daughter". When Papa said that my eyes gotten wider at that and I don't want to believe that, but I believe on it because my father show my paper result. I don't really want to believe that at all, I have no choice but to believe it. My cancer is getting worser on my worst sick that incurable that cannot cure by something or someone. My eyes is about to tear down then my mother hugged me to stop it then I rubbed my eyes. I don't know when this happen, my father can't do anything about it, he can't cure it or anything else to remove this cancer, even he's a doctor. It's meaningless for me to make this expression in front of the others and mostly in front of you Nico-chan. So that's what happen".

After Maki explained everything to Nico, she look down she clenched her teeth, then look at Nico with a smile tearing on her face "So that's... Nico-chan... I don't want... you to... hate me" Maki said while sobbing.

Nico smiled sweetly then she hugged Maki "Maki-chan... I don't hate you after all... that because I love you, so don't cry Maki-chan" Nico said in a sweetly voice.

But then Maki just cried on Nico's chest and she hugged back tightly.

1 day

"Why am I have an eye bag?" Maki asked herself by looking at the face mirror but she didn't notice something. "Oh, I forgot. WAIT!!... I'm in Nico-chan's house?!".

"Oh! You finally awake Maki-chan". "What am I doing here?! Why am I here?!". "You suddenly collapsed when you cried hard and don't worry I told this to your father anyway". "Is that so? Okay".

"Maki-chan!... Are you okay?!" Nico yelled. Maki got shock when Nico yelled and ask her "Ueeh!... Mou, Don't yelled like that Nico-chan, What's wrong?" Maki said then asked.

Maki saw Nico's hand is shaking a bit "Y-Your... eyes..." "Hm? My eyes, what?". "I-it... turn... Red" Nico said.

"Eh?" Maki confused. Maki got very confused at what Nico said to her that her eyes are turn to Red, so then she look at the face mirror and her eyes gotten wide when she saw her eyes are really red.

"Maki-chan... What happen to your eyes? What happen?" Nico asked in a worried way about Maki. Maki just force herself to smile that Nico is not worried "Don't worry Nico-chan. I don't know what happen at all that I have this eye colored" Maki said.

Nico just smiled back and didn't notice Maki's force smile. They remained silence just by smiling, then Nico cut the silence as she speak "Maki-chan, I'm going first to the bath" Nico said. Maki nodded as she read in her small note and gave a sigh.

While Nico is taking a quick bath she murtured to herself "Why can't I look at her eyes?" but it echoed "Are you saying something Nico-chan?" Maki asked. "Nothing" Nico said.

After a quick shower Nico go inside to her room to change and Maki just speak "Nico-chan you can go to the school if you are finish preparing. I'm just going somewhere".
