(Nanami POV)

As I walked around the village I realized that I never really appreciated my surroundings I was always indoors. Refusing to go outside due to terrible experiences, but that was before.

Flashback

"Hey Mimi let's go outside and play with the kids there."

"Good idea Asu I need to make friends."

Asuma and I skipped our way down the stairs and out the door.

"Hey, me and my sister would like to play with you guys. We saw how much fun you are having and we'd like to have fun too."

"Sure. You guys can play too."

We then started playing cars. As we played I heard people talking quietly as they pointed at me.

What's wrong with me? Do I have dirt on my face?

"Hey Asu do I have anything on my face those people won't stop staring and pointing at me."

"No you don't have anything on your face. Do they make you uncomfortable?"

"A little."

"Hey mind your own business quit staring at her!" He shouted at them.

The people quieted at this and went their separate ways.

The next day Nanami was excited to play with the kids again so she got dressed into proper clothing and left before Asuma woke up.

As she approached them one of the kids said

"You can't play with us anymore my mom said that you're a monster and you could hurt us really bad. She told me to stay away from you."

I'm a monster? How can I be a monster? Monsters only live under our beds.

"I'm not a monster! You're wrong!"

"No! I'm right, you're wrong! Plus my mom is always right!"

How can I be a monster!

All of the kids then started shouting at her. Calling her monster as well as anyone passing by.

End of flashback

(3rd POV)

Nanami never told anyone what people have called her. For being only 5 she's already heard a lot of mean things.

The worst part is that she believes them.

Ever since, she refuses to go outside. People might not say what's on their mind, but she knows what they're thinking about her.

She was strong enough to grow through these verbal attacks soon enough making her immune to any.

The Hokage had been notified that Nanami is receiving high marks in class and could eventually graduate the academy.

Her birthday is close, she'll be turning 6 and according to her sensei she will then be ready to graduate to chunnin.

She will of course have to first pass her graduating exam, but her sensei seems to be confident in her skills.

As Nanami made her way to the Hokage's office she simply let herself in as usual.

Looking down she greeted.

"Hey, dad"

"Hey, Mimi we were just talking about you"

At this she immediately looked up wondering who would bother talk about her to the Hokage.

She noticed it was her sensei.

"Your sensei just notified me that you can graduate the academy with the upcoming graduating class due to your high marks. Do you wish to graduate early?"

"Sure, why not. Sounds good to me."

"You do realize that this will put you one step closer towards the ninja life, correct?"

"I'm fully aware of that, father. If I may be honest I've been taking the biggest steps I could manage, just to get closer towards my dream."

"Is that so? Tell me child what is your dream?"

Keep in mind that the Hokage has never mentioned the existence of a letter written by her parents. Neither it's contents. As far as she knows they are really far and can't come back.

"My dream is to become one of the greatest kunoichi's and protect this village with my life!"

The Hokage was shocked at her statement.

'It's as if she were destined to take that path.' He thought to himself.

"I'm sure you will accomplish your dream without a problem."

"Thanks dad. So when can I graduate?"

"You will graduate tomorrow along with several others" answered her sensei.

"Will anyone from my class graduate as well?"

"No, with the exception of one other person."

"Who?"

"Kakashi Hatake"
