My father then came along with a few Anbu noticing my bad condition as I cradled Naruto.
I explained everything and he suggested I give Naruto to him and go to the hospital. As I handed Naruto to him he let out a cry that my father couldn't seem to quite down.
I once more took him in my arms and his cries immediately died out.
As I quietly hummed at him I made my way to the hospital completely ignoring my surroundings.
Once I arrived, the nurses tried to take him from me but I repeatedly refused until they gave up.
My arm was bandaged as well as the back of my head. The nurses quickly checked Naruto and stated he should stay overnight.
After that I left home and took a shower and changed into a pair of black knee length spandex shorts as well as my black long sleeved Jounin shirt.
Making my way to my undestroyed bed I was interrupted by a knock at the door.
"Ma'am the nurses can't seem to calm baby Naruto down and they requested your presence."
With a nod of my head I dismissed him as I made my way to the hospital.
Once I arrived I headed straight to the room I had left him in. I picked him up out of his place as the nurses exited."Hey there sweetie, it's ok. Nothing bad will happen. You're safe I promise." I cooed while cradling him.
He opened his eyes and smiled at me as I walked over to a couch that was the only other piece of furniture in the room.
I tightly wrapped the blankets around him so he wouldn't get sick as I hummed him into a nice slumber while rocking him.
I felt my own eyes drooping and my head slowly falling to one side but I quickly jolted back into my previous position.
Deciding I needed sleep I headed to the front lobby with Naruto safely in my arms.
"May I take him home with me?" I asked the lady behind the desk tiredly.
With a sympathetic look she answered with "Yes, but please bring him tomorrow for a thorough check up."
I nodded my head in understanding as I headed back home.
Looking down at the sleeping baby in my arms I wondered how exactly I'm going to deal with everything.
Am I going to call myself his mom?
I can't do that. I can't take Kushina's place. She filled my 'mother' role but I don't deem myself worthy of doing the same for Naruto.
I'm barely going to turn Fifteen and that is an extremely young age to become a 'mother', but if I must, for Naruto, I won't think twice about doing it.
I will gladly throw everything out the window for this ray of sunshine in my arms. He deserves everything great in life and I hope to give it to him.
For Minato and Kushina. To thank them for throwing everything out their windows to include me as 'Family'.
Once I made up my mind I walked into the house to an awaiting Asuma and Father. Seeing a questioning look on their faces I walked past them and straight to my room as I placed Naruto on my bed.
Preparing a bottle, with the baby necessities provided by the nurse that authorized Naruto's release, I woke him up to feed him.
Once he finished his bottle I placed him upright with his chest on the side of my shoulder and held the back of his head as I gently patted his back with my free hand.
Once he burped I rocked him back into another deep slumber as I laid him back on my bed beside the wall so he wouldn't fall overnight.
Laying next to him I too entered a longed slumber.
The next morning I awoke thanks to a soft patting to my face. Lazily opening an eye I realized Naruto had found my face entertaining as he continuously patted my face.
Thankfully he hadn't kept me up all night, the way I've heard many babies do, and didn't disturb my slumber.
"How long have you been awake?"
He softly smiled at my voice and I found myself happier than I had ever been so far.
"Are you hungry?" I asked as I made him a baby bottle.
Lifting him into my arms I began to feed him. Once he had finished his food I gently patted his back.
I then quickly put on my Jounin attire as he slept peacefully.
I gently wrapped him in a bundle of blankets only showing his face as I headed out the door in the direction of the hospital.
On my way there I took notice, for the first time, how utterly destroyed most buildings were and it only caused a pang to my chest as the previous events replayed in my head.
I arrived to the hospital to be directed to a room where the doctor went into detail about Naruto's care.
"I completely understand. I read several books about baby caring when I discovered he was on the way."
"And so far you are doing an excellent job. Now, you may go and feel free to stop by for any form of help toward his care."
"Thank you."
On my way out I ran into Mikoto and her baby as well as Itachi.
"Hi Nanami. How have you been?"
"Hey Mikoto. I have been well a bit busy and it's been difficult. How have you been?"
"I guess I could say the same thing. The baby your holding is it Kushina's?"
"Yes, it is. His name is Naruto, Naruto Uzumaki."
"Mom can I see the baby?" Itachi softly asked Mikoto.
"That's up to Nanami sweetie."
He shyly looked in my direction as I smiled at him and slightly bent to his height.
"Sure you can little one."
I slightly ruffled his hair as I showed him Naruto.
He looked at me with a form of permission to which I nodded as he softly poked his cheek causing him to open his eyes.
"He almost has your eyes. Yours are lighter."
"Yes they are."
"Is he your baby?"
"I guess now you could say he is"
"Mom what does that mean."
"It means she is going to take care of him and love him like moms love their babies even though he isn't hers."
"You're nice Nanami. Do you think I could someday be like that?"
"Itachi, I'm sure someday you will do something a lot nicer than anything I have ever done."
