As I read the letter with Naruto still in my arms Kakashi entered after being told so.
I hadn't even realized the river that streamed down my face as I read every word in the letter.
Naruto stared at me with glossy eyes and quivering lips. Through my tears and shaky voice I softly told him
"H-hey ba-aby it's a-alright. D-don't cry. I-I've got you."
The sentence that took forever to leave my quivering lips caught Kakashi's attention.
Running over to my side he kneeled beside the couch I sat in.
"Hey Nanami, what's wrong?" He asked so softly I almost didn't hear.
Looking up into his stormy eyes I noticed his pained expression as he looked back into my sea blue watery ones.
"Ka-kashi my...my pa-rents...this... letter."
I assume he understood the situation as he engulfed me into a hug with Naruto in between.
After he pulled away, Naruto looked at my tear drenched face and burst into tears. Feeling my emotional pain he cried with me as I desperately tried to comfort him.
Kakashi noticed I was having a difficult time comforting Naruto so he took him into his arms and gently rocked him as he paced around the room.
My dad soon came and sat next to me, he pulled me into a hug as he rubbed my head.
"Dad....all this time....I-I thought my parents had abandoned me. I... thought they didn't want me and I...I felt hatred towards them for that. Now....now I regret it so...so much."
My father didn't say anything as he rocked me back and forth still rubbing the back of my head.
After a few minutes of silence my father spoke up.
"It's possible they are still alive."
"Even if they are, how am I going to find them?"
"Maybe it knows."
Seeing as Kakashi wasn't aware of the demon, father didn't want him to know.
"I will have to leave the village to get to them."
"If that's what you desire I will allow it."
"I won't leave permanently. No matter what, I'll return. I just need to know if they are still alive."
"Take it as a solo mission."
"I'm still contemplating it because I believe it's selfish on my part to leave."
"I don't believe it's selfish."
"It is, because I will be leaving Naruto all alone."
"He won't be alone. I'll make sure of that."
Contemplating the situation I looked over at Kakashi as he was making Naruto giggle by tickling him.
I'll just leave for some time. I'll find the place I was born in and then return to my home. I'm sure nothing bad could happen.
After making up my mind I silently told my father I would go.
"It will be extremely difficult for me to find them since I have no clue where to start."
My father nodded in agreement.
"When do you wish to leave?"
"I don't know yet. Allow me some time to think about it."
