I pull up to Lauren's house at about 7:00 o'clock in the morning and drag my-half-asleep-self out of my car and up to her front door. I ring the bell and wait for Lauren to come and let me in.
The door flies open to reveal a very peppy and awake Lauren. "Good morning!" How is she so cheery in the morning?
"Hey." I reply back in a very monotone voice.
"Gee, someone's in a good mood..."
"I am I promise, I'm just not a morning person."
"It is the same time you leave to walk to school in the morning, it's not that different."
I roll my eyes at her. "Yeah, yeah, well it's Saturday. Can you hurry up and grab your bags so we can leave? We want to get there in plenty of time to go through security and check out bags in."
"I'll be out in a sec, okay?"
I turn on my heels and head back towards my car to get the boot (A/N that's what we call the back bit of the car, y'know, the bit behind the seats. I think it's also called the trunk or something.) open. Just as I turn to see if she is coming, I see her almost running towards me with her 2 suitcases in tow. I'm glad she got it down to 2, when I left her yesterday she had almost filled 4. "Someone's eager to get going."
She started to put her luggage in the car. "Of course I am! I need to get away from this cold, and into the sunshine of California!" she said with quite a dramatic tone as she gestured around her.
"Whatever, you just want to check out the Huntington boys"
"Yeah, that to too." She smirked.
I rolled my eyes and hopped in the car, Lauren had already said goodbye to her parents before she came out, so she got into the passenger seat and we made our way to the airport.
We sat in silence for a while. It wasn't a weird silence. It was a content silence, well; it wasn't a complete silence we had the radio playing lightly in the background. Just then our favourite song came on, Sugar We're Going Down by Fall Out Boy, Lauren and I gave each other the same look. She reached over and turned the volume right up and the car was almost vibrating from the beat.
We both screamed the lyrics at the top of our lungs as best we could between our laughter.
"AM I MORE THAN YOU BARGINED FOR YET? I'VE BEEN DYING TO TELL YOU ANYTHING YOU WANNA HEAR CAUSE THAT'S JUST WHO I AM THIS WEEK. LIE IN THE GRASS NEXT TO THE MAUSOLEUM!! I'M JUST A NOTCH IN YOUR BEDPOST BUT YOU'RE JUST A LINE IN A SONG!!" we yelled as loud as we possible could while danced in our seats, and pretended to play the guitar and the drums. Then came the chorus which, I didn't think it was possible, made us scream even louder.
"WE'RE GOING DOWN, DOWN IN AN EARLIER ROUND!! AND SUGAR WE'RE GOING DOWN SWINGING!! I'LL BE YOUR NUMBER ONE WITH THE BULLET!! A LOADED GOD COMPLEX, COCK IT AND PULL IT!!" We sung, well, more like yelled with all our might. We listened to the rest of the verses, without singing. We just banged our heads and played our imaginary instruments. I swear we need to be put in a mental hospital. When the chorus came back around again, we screamed some more. I don't know if we are going to have any voice left by the time we get to the airport. When the song finished, I turned the radio back down to it's original volume and we both sat there slightly giggling at our madness and panting trying to catch our breath from our screaming match. We spend the rest of the car ride just gossiping about school and other random things that came to mind.
-On the plane-
"Ugh, I hate airplane food. Why can't we even just have some decent noodles or something instead of this slop." Lauren made a disgusted face as she poked her food as if it was some sort of alien.
