Chapter 15: Just Drive

Summer's POV

"I spy with my little eye..." I look around for something to choose, "something with 'R'."

Wes switches his gaze from the road to his surroundings every couple of seconds as he tries to find what my 'little eye spy's'.

"Hmmm, inside or outside?" He asks as he whips head towards me momentarily.

"Inside."

"Damn, well there goes the possibility of 'rabbit'." I smile slightly.

Wesley and I have been driving for only 30 minutes and we have already resorted to playing 'I spy' to pass time. We haven't seen anything too interesting or worth stopping for yet, mainly because we haven't been driving too far; we have only just passed Long Beach.

"So, is there anywhere in particular you want me to drive? Or are we just going till we run out of gas?" Wes flicks his gaze towards me quickly.

"No where in particular. I just need some time to think. I can't talk to Lauren cause she's gone back home." I feel a lone salty tear, run down my face. I wipe it away before Wesley can see it though, but apparently I wasn't fast enough.

"Hey, hey; it's okay. What happened? Did she get home sick? Did you two have a fight?" Wes places his giant hand on my, tiny on comparison, thigh and begins to slightly massage; which actually does a good job of calming me down.

"No... Her, uh, dad was in a car accident and they're not sure if he'll make it." My voice was but a hoarse whisper, due to the catch in my throat that was slowly growing.

"Oh, Summer. I'm so sorry, I know you must be dev--"

"Wes!" I let out an ear-shattering scream, then I felt something sharp slice across my face. I also could feel a warm sensation coming from my thigh followed by intense pain.

I heard muffled screams, and crushing metal as my eyes drooped and I was washed over with darkness.

Alright, I purposely made this short so you guys could have a cliff hanger ;) hehehe. Don't worry I do have more, and stuff to write. This isn't the big drama bomb by the way. I should have the rest of this up for you tomorrow if all goes well and I remember :)
