Wes' POV
"Wes?" Her voice was so small and sweet.
"Yeah?"
"Do you sleep around with a lot of girls? Are you a player?" When those words came out of her mouth I swear the entire world froze. I knew my past was gonna fuck shit up eventually, I just didn't think it would be now. I finally find a girl that I actually like and my shitty past wants to come and ruin it.
"What?" Maybe if I pretend like I don't know, she'll give it up.
"I know you heard me Wes, stop avoiding the question." Ah, shit. Maybe not.
"Um... Well... I wouldn't use the word player... I would--"
She cut me off. "What word would you prefer, hm? How about 'user', 'womanizer', 'jerk'; take your pick."
"If you would just let me ex--" She stopped me again.
"Let you explain what Wesley?! Are you, or are you not a player? It's simple question."
"I used to be!" Wow, that came out harsher than I intended. I could see in Summer's eyes that she wasn't expecting it either. "I used to be a player. A different girl every week..." My voice was much softer and I saw Summer's face turn into disgust and she tried to get up and leave but I grabbed her arm and pulled her back down onto the bench. "You didn't let me finish." She refused to look at me, she was staring intently at the ground. I gently grabbed her chin and pulled her head so that she was looking me right in the eyes. I could see the tears pooling in her eyes. Wow. I am horrible. How could I cause her this much pain?
"I used to be a player. Though, as soon as I met you that all changed." Her face began to soften but then as quickly as it came her hardened disgusted look came back. Alright, well, that hurt, I just told her that she changed me and she still thinks I am gross. Awesome. Note my sarcasm.
"Lovely speech Wes. Who was the last girl you used that on? Did it work? Ha ha!" Her laugh was bitter "Of course it worked, you could sweet talk your way in to any girls pants, couldn't you? And changed? Please. We've known each other for a matter of days. You seriously can't get me to believe you've changed." Wait, what? What is she talking about?
"Summer I'm telling you the tru--"
"Truth? You think I'm going to believe you're telling the truth? Haha!" Again, more bitter laugh "That's rich Wes. That's hilarious. Have you considered being a comedian?" Wow, why is she being so mean? "It's gonna take more than a couple jokes and sweet talk to get me to trust you Wes. Just leave me alone, and call me when you want more than just a one night stand." Her voice cracked with her last words. The tears slowly rolled down her cheeks while she released her arm from my grip that I forgot I had on her. With that she was skating down the street with Lauren and Bailey running after her and calling her name. I watched as she skated away sadly. Taking my heart with her. It felt like I had just been kicked in the gut and slapped in the face. Her words literally stung me. What is this girl doing to me?
Summer's POV
Tears were streaming down my face and showed no signs of stopping. Who knew I could cry so much in one day. Then it hit me again, a wave of pain in my chest. The same as when he told me he slept with a different girl every week, it seems I am going in and out of numbness. I haven't felt like this since Noah. Noah. Just his name made my blood boil and leave a bad taste in my mouth.
"Summer slow down!! What the hell happened?!" Bailey's voice broke me from my sad trance, and I came to a halt. Tears still streaming down my face. Wow, I must be really hydrated to cry this much. Bailey and Lauren caught up to me both of them panting from trying to keep up with me.
"Care to tell us what happened back there before you took off?" Lauren asked.
"Yeah, what's with the tears hun?" Bailey came closer and started to comfort me by rubbing circles on my back.
"Wesley Stromberg is a player and I don't want anything to do with him." I stated calmly yet the tears were still slowly rolling down my cheeks. At least they were stopping.
"Say the word and we will never let that man-whore bother you again." Lauren declared with a nod of her head and a proud smile. I gave her a smile back as thanks.
"Come on. Let's get some ice cream." Bailey urged, and with that we were heading towards the nearest shop to get 3 buckets of ice cream.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~
"HOW COULD HE?! THEY ARE MEANT TO BE!" I screamed at my TV.
We were currently sitting on my couch with our tubs of ice cream and watching 'The Notebook'. We've been crying and watching sappy movies all afternoon, only stopping to pee or get more ice cream.
"Can you shut it?!" Lauren snapped at me. I forgot she fell asleep about 20 minutes ago.
"Ha ha! Sorry Loz." She just grunted in response and then fell back asleep.
Not even 5 minutes later, the doorbell rang. I looked at Bailey with confusion. "Did you invite anyone over?" She shook her head 'no' in response. "Neither."
"Well I'm not getting it, I'm too full of ice cream to even move." I groaned at her laziness and reluctantly got up to answer the door.
When I swung the door open, there stood the guy I least wanted to see at the moment. I shut the door in his face before he even had a chance to say 'hello', but just my luck; my idea of slamming the door did not work as planned and he stuck his foot in the way of the door to stop it from closing. I saw him wince from the impact. This caused a pang in my heart to see that I had hurt him, but it quickly went away once I remembered I was upset and angry with him. "What do you want Wes?" My voice was cold and full of malice. I can't believe it sounded like that. I have never sounded so horrible. I don't like it.
I saw Wes was taken a back by my tone of voice as well. "Uh-well-uh.. Can we talk?" He removed him foot from the way of the door.
"Sure." I then tried to slam the door once again but to no avail, he jammed his foot back in the way. Again, with that wince on impact.
"I thought you said we could talk!"
"We can, we just did." I retorted.
"You know what I mean." His tone was very serious.
"Fine. Can you leave me alone now? I kinda have a movie to finish."
"What about talking?" He was clearly getting irritated at the fact we weren't talking about everything, and maybe the fact that I kept slamming a door on his foot.
"I didn't mean right now. Maybe tomorrow..." With all the emotions swirling around, it almost hadn't occurred to me that Wesley was at my house, yet he didn't know my address. "How did you know where I live?"
He just gave me a cheeky-all-knowing smirk and began to jog away towards his own home. That was so odd. Stalker-ish much? I thought to myself. I shook my head to get me to focus on what I was doing before Wesley showed up on my doorstep. I was able to shut the door this time without having someone jam their foot in the way. I then spun on my heels and made a beeline back to the lounge room where the girls are located.
Lauren was now awake and both the girls are sitting up-right staring at me intently. "You are never gonna believe what just happened." I informed them, and they just continued to stare at me, obviously interested in what I was going to say next.
Hey Babes! How is you all. Ha ha! That was horrible grammar. Anyway, hope you guys liked this chapter :) I enjoyed writing it. Then again I enjoy writing all my chapters. Did you get teary when Wes and Summer were fighting? Yeah, me neither :) I know it was shorter than usual, but I wasn't really sure how I wanted it to go. I hope it was enough though... I shall post AT LEAST once a week from now on. It might even be 2 or 3 times if I'm not busy with other things.
