     BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

I rolled over with a groan at the sound of my obnoxious alarm clock. It was 8:30 on Sunday. Wonderful. School tommorrow. Isn't life just amazing?

I turned it off and sat up and checked my messages. Nothing. Of course I had no friends so it really didn't surprise me. Until I checked again.

     'One Message.'

I smiled gently as I already knew who it was and checked it out as I got up and undressed. It had only been sent about 3 seconds ago.

Celeste the weirdo: Hey, wanna meet up at this small cafe near the library in half an hour?

I finished and went and turned on the shower as I texted back.

Me: I'd love to! Getting in the shower now!

She quickly sent a text back and I read it and set it back down.

     Celeste the weirdo: Kay!

I quickly hopped into the shower and took my time until realizing I only had half an hour and hurried it up and got out about 15 minutes later. I got dressed in my normal flannel jacket, this time red and a blank tank top. I slid on skinny jeans and my red converse's with a satisfied grin and checked myself out in the mirror.

I loved my outfit but hated the body underneath it. My breasts weren't quite as big as other girls my age and my butt wasn't round and I was really skinny. I sighed and glanced at my face through the mirror. My worst feature. I had green eyes that always looked tired and bloodshot and I had messy brown hair, making me frown and walk out, no longer wanting to look.

I checked the time. 9:17. I sighed and started applying make up to get the wretched creature away and smile as I finish and its 9:20 by the time I'm done. I run downstairs and trip a bit and stumble my way down the rest. My father is just now waking up and I'm heading out the door and he stops me with a, "where are you going this early in the morning on a Sunday?"

I could tell he was extremely tired. Maybe even hungover. It's one of his remedies ever since the accident.

"I met a really cool girl at the library yesterday and I am going to go hangout with her at the cafe near the library," I say, being completely honest. I'd never lie to my best friend.

He nodded gently, understanding, though he look pained. "Glad to see your finally recovering after your mother's departing..." He sighed a bit and the pain on his face grew, making me worry and come over and rub his back.

"And what about you dad? You can't just sit here and watch videos and drink, that's just going to make it worse.." My father nodded with a soft, "I know, I'm trying to stop... It's just so complicated and difficult," I nodded agreeing with him and kissed his forehead, "I've got to go, she's probably waiting for me."

My dad nodded and I stood and made my way to the door, "love you daddy," he returned the words and with that I was out the door. I genuinely was worried for him and hated seeing him like that, if only I could find him a better way of getting over it.

9:34. I made my way down the street that I had to get more familiar with as I turned around the corner and saw the library then beside it the cafe. I smiled gently and quickly crossed the street, disrupting a few cars and getting a couple honks as I appoligize and slowly pass the library and open the door to the cafe.

Sure enough the girl was sitting there patiently in a corner booth with a frappe and a impatient stare down at the table. I chuckled to myself, thinking, she's probably been here for the whole half hour she told me to come. I made my to the counter and ordered a coffee and when I was telling them the info to put on the cup and paying them I felt my eyes get covered and freeze.

    "Guess who!"

I calm down and laugh, "the... annoying perky girl from the library?"

She uncovered my eyes and gave me a pouty face, "well... I have a name you know, and I'm not annoying!"

I laughed more and decided to tease the girl a bit, she was so weird, "Yeah, whatever you say."

She continued to frown and huff and I smile and roll my eyes, "I'm just joking, no need to get all depressed."

I grabbed my coffee as It was set on the counter and smile and start walking towards the table, "So, what were you planning?"

She followed me to the small booth she was at before and as I sat she sat across from me. "I was planning on just talking about ourselves. I thought it would be the best way to get to know my new... friend? right?" I giggled lightly and nodded, "yeah, friend."

Celeste smiled widely and I laughed more as she squealed a small "yay!" I look around, taking in the surroundings as the girl watched me just smiling, "so, how are you liking the new town?!" Celeste asked as I turned back towards her.

I raised an eyebrow. Wait. I didn't tell her I had just moved here, how could she possibly know. "I can tell because I've never seen you around here, and I know EVERYBODY in town," she explained as if she was able to read my mind.

I smile and nod, "quite the mind reader you are. But, so far... not really..." I mumbled the last part but she obviously heard when she shouted, "WHAT?! HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE IT HERE IN JACKSONVILLE?!" My eyes went wide at her shouting and I sighed as I didn't like explaining things.

"Well, I moved here cause of a really awful thing, which I don't want to talk about, and being here is really making me think more and more about what happened.. And, other then you, I have no friends here." I shrug lightly as I explain, Celeste listening intently, which surprised me by her look of focus on my words then she frowned, "I feel so bad for you!"

With that she reached over the table, nearly knocking over my coffee, and wrapped her arms around my shoulders and pulled me close in an awkward and uncomfortable hug. I was a bit weirded out at first but laugh and hug back, "thanks, but, honestly I'm fine. With your help I might be able to warm up to this place."

That was when she came up with a great idea, "How about after you finish your coffee I can show you around town!"

I smile gently and nod, "sure, sounds wonderful!"

I then started to suck down as Celeste went on and on about herself and her morning.

She really was an interesting person. She was 17 years old and she went to the school of Jacksonville high school, which is where I believe I remember, I'm supposed to be going on Monday. Which was tomorrow. Shit. But, she has lived here all her life but she had sort of a German accent which was explained by her mother being full German and I smiled and laughed.

I could get used to this girl. Sweet, yet weird and playful.

I finally finish and I get up but Celeste is ahead of me and she starts running towards the door as I laugh and get up and throw it away. I walk up to her after I had thrown away the empty cup and she swung her arm around mine and we interlocked as I laughed and she shouted out, "Now time for the tour of my beloved town!" I nod and she basically knocks down the door as she takes me out of the small cafe.
