Rebecca that night came home to an empty house and the package sat on her dining table waiting to be taped up and sent back.
"I'll tape it up tomorrow it's not going anywhere" Rebecca thought
She put down her groceries on the dining table and unloaded them into the kitchen.
She sat down on the couch and started to read the night moved on and eventually sleep claimed her in its dark embrace.
At midnight a red glow came from the ruby,at this point it was just bright enough to wake Rebecca.
She turned to the box and sat up,rubbing her eyes.
"I'm dreaming this is one of those weird dreaming that I woke up dreams"
The glow grew brighter and bigger until it took the form of a red portal,and a figure emerged. A black haired smokey green eyed girl,who was at least 6'2 wearing black iron armor that hugged her figure and a weaved silver crown came out and stared at Rebecca who was startled at the fact that any of this was happening. Rebecca subtilely pinched herself and it was very clear she wasn't dreaming.
"Rebecca Kirs?" The woman asked.
"Umm...who is asking?" Rebecca asked carefully
"I'm Daku,Daku Silver,I'm here to take you home."
"I am sorry you must have me confused with someone else because I am home,maybe whoever you're looking for changed her name or address." Rebecca replied calmly
"No we used a pretty strong locater spell and it said who I am looking for is here" Daku replied in a as a matter of fact tone.
"Well maybe it's tracking the wrong person by accident because I'd think I'd know if I came from a magical realm that can open portals and has locator spells..." Rebecca said a little less calmly.
"Not if you were sent away as a baby which you were." Daku said in a factual tone.
"Which the person you're looking for was" Rebecca corrected gently, "because I'm sure it isn't me."
"Give me your arm" Daku ordered sternly
"Why?" Rebecca asked confused by the request
"Just give it to me" Daku said grabbing her arm.
Daku pulled out a flask and put a clear drop of liquid on her arm.
It started to burn where the drop was and the drop started to grow.
And a mark appeared, a strange little crescent moon with a tree on it appeared.
"It's definitely you, nobody can fake that mark" Daku said confidently
"Are you sure?" Rebecca asked staring at the mark
"Yes your mother gave you a hidden mark so she could find you when it was safe for you to come back, nobody can fake it because nobody knows about it."
"Then how do you know about it?" Rebecca asked sternly
"Weren't you listening I was sent to bring you home. Your mother sent me to get you." Daku said exasperated. "Now you have one day to get you and one other person packed. I'll be back this time tomorrow don't be late." Daku said in a tone you couldn't really refute.
Rebecca stood there silently and nodded her head,half in disbelief and the other half because what was she gonna say to the warrior woman in her living room I mean come on really.
"Good I'm glad we understand each other now I'd better be off your mom is going to want a status report." Daku said happily.
Daku opened the portal and stepped through.
"How am I gonna explain this to anyone?" Thought Rebecca.
