After a whole day of preparation midnight had arrived and Felix and Rebecca were awaiting the arrival of Daku. The waiting was excruciating especially since Felix was quiet,more quiet then usual. Felix of course got more concerned the more serious as the days and tasks got more serious, and after awhile he started to think she wasn't joking.
"Hey are you ok?" Rebecca asked concerned
"Yeah I'm fine I'm just still adjusting to the fact that a magical portal is gonna open up and we are leaving." Felix said somberly
" He doesn't fully believe you.." The voice in her head said dryly
"Well would you? I didn't fully believe it myself till I saw it."
"Well he's gonna see it soon,look." The voice indicated the ruby.
It started to glow. It glowed brighter and brighter and then took the shape it did before,and Daku began to emerge.
Felix's eyes were huge. He rubbed them and looked again at the dark figure emerging.
"You're not crazy..I see it too" Rebecca said reassuringly.
Daku emerged and stood in front of the portal.
"Well I see you chose a friend and got your stuff packed and you were on time" Daku said approvingly
"Well I didn't want to disappoint" said Rebecca
"Well you didn't" Daku said smiling. She looked over at Felix. "And who's your friend?" Daku looked at Felix inquiringly.
"I'm Felix her boyfriend" Felix said cooly
"Nice to meet you I'm Daku. Now let's get going" Daku said walking to the portal
"It's not to late to turn back." Rebecca whispered to Felix
"Im not leaving" Felix whispered back. His tone made it very clear his mind was made up.
"Cmon lovebirds lets go!" Daku said walking into the portal.
"Together?" Felix asked
Rebecca grabbed his hand and took a breath.
"Together..." She replied
"Ok...3...2...1"
