It's been months since Rebecca got that strange package from Bob.
Asnoth was rebuilt,and Daku's men were doing fine. She has changed the check in times to an hour and a half,and Daku felt confident that it was a fluke and was satisfied with her men.
It was nearing her birthday now. She wondered if her mother even remembered her birthday. She wondered how they celebrated birthdays here. She wonder what she and Felix would do for her birthday.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door.
"Come in" said Rebecca.
Margie bursted in with an excited smile.
"Hi Margie what's got you so excited?" Rebecca smiled
"Come on come on we have to get to the tailors!" Margie squealed in delight.
"Why? I have way more then enough dresses" Rebecca said.
"Not for your birthday ball!" Margie smiled
"Birthday ball? Really? Huh so that's how they celebrate birthdays here" Rebecca was quite satisfied with that answer.
"Yes royalty at least, now come on we don't want to be late!" Margie was bursting with excitement.
Rebecca chose a elegant blue dress, it was sleeveless and hugged her quite nicely. It had some black lace at the skirt and at the waist.
"Oh it looks lovely dear!" Margie squealed with delight.
"Thank you Margie." Rebecca looked at herself in the mirror, "do you think the lace is to much? Rebecca asked turning her side to the mirror.
"No no dear it's just enough, with the right necklace it'll be perfect." Margie squealed again.
"You seem very excited about this?" Rebecca smiled
"It's not every day the princess you mid wifed turns twenty two." Margie beamed
"You mid wifed me? Why didn't you ever tell me?" Rebecca asked
"Well you never asked and it was twenty two years ago." She clapped her hands excitedly, "now come on it's time to choose cake!"
"I already know which one I want.' Rebecca thought.
Chocolate moose cake was Rebecca and Felix favorite cake.
They went to the store and bought a chocolate moose cake, then headed back to the castle. Everyone was busy the cooks,the maids, even the stable masters were making preparations to receive all the horses.
"Oh deary me I got to help Veronica get the dining room clean. Happy birthday my dear!" Margie hurried off as quick as a bolt of lightning.
"Aww Margie." Rebecca smiled as the little maid scurried down the hall.
"Oh your majesty I can take your dress for you." A young maid walked up to Rebecca.
"Oh if you could that would be great. You don't have to though, I'm sure you're very busy."
"Oh no your highness it's no bother." The maid smiled.
"Ok of its not an inconvenience."
"It's not I assure you I am heading that way to decorate the halls with lanterns anyways"
"Oh well then thank you" Rebecca handed her the dress.
"No problem your majesty." The maid started to walk away then turned to Rebecca and said, "You know, you're one of the nicest princesses I worked for. The others had no consideration for their staff. But your mother and you, you're so different so kind."
"I'm glad you think so" Rebecca blushed.
"Anyways ma'am goodbye and happy birthday" the maid said turning to walk away.
"Thank you." Rebecca said smiling.
Rebecca was going to walk to her room, then she decided to go see Felix instead.
She walked to his room and knocked on the door.
"Who is it?" Felix called through the door.
"It's me silly goose" Rebecca called back.
Felix opened the door and let her inside.
"Happy birthday Becks" Felix said pulling out a present.
"Aww thanks Felix" Rebecca kissed him and opened it.
Inside was a silver necklace with a diamond cut aquamarine that was as pure and shining as the water it was named after.
"Oh Felix it's beautiful. Can you help me put it on?" She pulled it out of the box and undid the clasp,then turned her back to Felix who helped her put it on.
He put his arms around her and kissed her cheek.
"I love you Felix." Rebecca turned to look at him.
He looked her in the eyes and said "I love you too"
She kissed him again and sat down on the bed next to him.
Felix smiled and pulled out a book and sat next to her,and started to read.
"Whatcha reading?" Rebecca looked over his shoulder.
"Oh Much ado about nothing." He replied.
Rebecca nuzzled under one arm, laid into it and read with him.
They sat there for hours just reading together. Until it was 5:30 and it was time to get ready to go to the ball.
"Well I guess I'd better get in my tux" Felix rose from the bed.
"I'll see you at the party" Rebecca kissed him in the cheek and left the room.
The party was splendid, everyone was there and dressed up. Even Daku was in a black armor like dress.
"Well I'd thought I'd never see the day. You in a dress? Estria must be ending" Rebecca said to Daku playfully.
"Don't get use to it I'm only doing this for you" Daku replied in an equally playful way.
Rebecca hugged Daku and said, "I'm glad you came."
"I'm glad I did too. I wouldn't have wanted to miss that cake." Daku pointed at the giant cake in the middle of the room grinning impishly at Rebecca.
"Yeah yeah yeah go get yourself a slice" Rebecca said in a sarcastic tone. She smiled at Daku who ran off to get a piece of the action.
The party was going splendidly, Felix and Rebecca danced, Everyone had cake, everyone had fun, but the festivities was interrupted by a scout running in as fast as he could.
"General Daku" the scout panted
"What is it?" Daku rushed over
"The watch tower it's under attack again. It's another piksa party." He replied
"Gather all the men you can. I will follow shortly." Daku ordered
Daku ran up to her room and put on her armor. She rushed out quickly jumped on a horse and went with her men to the watch tower.
