"Alright men lets go one more rep of ten" Daku called to the men doing push-ups in their armor. They were interrupted by a messenger running,he was out of breath.
"General ma'am...the village.... Narg raid...village...burning...help." He said between panted breaths
"What village do you come from?" Daku demanded
"Asnoth" the panting man replied
"Men move out NOW" Daku voice barked
The men did not dare hesitate they grabbed their swords and horses and headed to Asnoth.
When Daku and her men got there the village was in a blaze and men, women, and children were all running as fast as they could. A little girl was holding her mother's limp hand,the rest of her was under the house that had been burned down. It had crushed the poor girls mother. The scene was all to familiar to her.
Then she heard her scream.
A narg was trying to carry her away.
Daku sprung into action cutting the nargs head off swiftly in one stroke.
She picked up the little girl and ordered a soldier to get her out of the blazing village.
Men were bringing water and killing nargs. The village was in chaos.
They fought the blaze for hours. When the fire was killed they came to see what could be salvaged.
"Report." Daku demanded
"Ma'am the farms are untouched and unscathed. They will not starve. They can take refuge in the old ruins until we get the village rebuilt. It shouldn't take long. We got here before it got to bad." A private stated.
"Alright...bury the dead.." Daku said grimly, "Then lets immediately get to work. Take some men and evacuate the civilians to the ruins. Tend their wounded and make sure what families are alive are reunited. I'll stay here with other men and start clearing carnage."
"Yes ma'am." The soldier saluted and immediately went to work.
Daku sighed and sorrowfully looked upon the village.
"I wish we were here sooner."
