Will
"Nico, just talk to me. I know you're upset."
I sigh loudly as I follow my fiancé down the hall of the hospital. It was almost midnight, so it was pretty deserted in the halls. I grab his hand and pull him close to me. "Please, just calm down." I take a deep breath and gave him a pleading look.
He sighed loudly. "Why aren't you in there performing surgery on my sister and her husband to make sure they live?!" I knew he wasn't angry. He was scared and stressed out that he could lose another family member. I had to remain calm.
"Neeks, please. They think I need a break at the moment, so will you just please calm down?"
He sighed again and grumbled, "Fine." I let out a sigh of relief and run a hand through my curly blonde hair. "I know you're stressed, but you shouldn't lash it out on others," I spoke softly. He didn't say anything and instead walked back to the waiting room where the rest of our friends were. I followed close behind, deciding to use the time in my break to say hi to my friends.
As soon as I walked into the room, I could feel the tension in the atmosphere, and it wasn't just because Nico was still mad at me.
I look over at the seats where everyone was sitting silently. I noticed a pretty girl sitting on the other side of Leo. My eyes widened.
"Leo!"
He looked up and grinned. "Wassup?"
I sigh loudly. "You're still the same guy who broke his arm falling off a tree while trying to spy on the Aphrodite cabin, aren't you?"
He laughed and playfully punched my shoulder. "I've changed, dude. Now I break my leg."
I laugh at his humor before going back to the pretty girl. With the death-glare Annabeth was giving, and the guilty look Percy had on his face made me come up with the conclusion that they've met before. I though back to a few summers ago and remembered when the whole cabin thought Percy was dead, when he had actually been on some island or something...
Island...
I scan my brain looking for a possible Greek myth when it suddenly occurred to me. The pretty girl was Calypso.
Calypso looked uncomfortable. With the current position she was in, I wouldn't blame her. Annabeth's death-glares are pretty scary. Annabeth more like Annadeath.
I wanted to lighten the mood, but I honestly had no idea how. "So umm... How have you all been?" I ask quietly. No answer.
I look over at Nico for help, but he was just staring down at his hands, probably thinking about Hazel and Frank. I sigh loudly and wrap an arm around him. He tenses for a minute before relaxing. We've been living together for three years and he's still not used to physical contact. Weird.
We were all silent for a while before an exhausted looking Jason walked in. Sweat beaded down his forehead as he let out heavy pants. "Gods, I'm exhausted."
"Well?" Annabeth asked impatiently. "What happened?"
Piper and Jason had decided that they wanted to be surprised on what the gender of their baby was.
Jason took some more heavy pants. Funny how he was exhausted even though he wasn't the one who pushed out the baby.
After what seemed like forever, he managed to pant out. "Baby... Girl... Beautiful..."
We all slowly walked down the hall and quietly walked into Piper's hospital room where she was. She looked like she had climbed a mountain, but it had been worth it because the scenery was beautiful.
In her arms was a small tiny baby wrapped in a pink blanket. "She's so cute," I whisper, not wanting to wake her up.
She had a bit of hair, and it was obvious she had her dad's. She had Piper's nose, and according to her, she also had her eyes.
"What's her name?" Leo asked softly. Piper looked over at Jason. They shared the same happy grin. "Silena," she said after a minute.
When Piper had arrived to camp, her siblings had told her about the bravest soldier from Aphrodite cabin. Piper loved hearing all about her. Percy, Annabeth, Nico, and I shared sad smiles at the mention of her. Annabeth whispered something in her husband's ear and he nodded with a grin.
We watched the small infant, and for a second, everything felt right.
