Another one of those chapters. As Janaeya and Jamaal's relationship grows and the summer comes to an end, they get a bit more serious. But, um...in this chapter, not both of them are exactly...aware. This chapter is worse than the other one I put up a picture like this for, but again. This is not a contemporary novel or an adult novel so nothing extremely detailed. Anyways, read at your own risk. Love y'all!
Suzanne's birthday is next week and she only told me yesterday. I am so confused as to what I should get her. I know she loves to read but she already has thousands of books. I think she also writes, but she hasn't told me what about.
Yesterday I was hanging out with Susanne. We were walking to the mechanics room and I saw a pack of papers in there only because there weren't any other papers laying around in there; flyers advertising the motel. They were the ugliest things. The font was a weird, smuggling font and the paper was not properly used completely.
"Oh, those are our flyers. It's pretty much the only way we advertise ourselves." Susanne waves it off. "I think we have a commercial out. Or had. When this place was...actually profitable."
"Oh." But then a light bulb goes off in my head. "I am so into fashion and designing things and I can totally make a flyer for you."
Susanne's mouth opens and kid of twitches there.
"No, seriously. I'd love to. And, you know what?" I look around the mechanics room. "I think this establishment could use a make over."
Susanne's eyes widen.
I was my open palms at her.
"A small one. I swear. I'm not sure how much money you have in inventory but we can go take a day or three, go down to den furniture stores, and spends some days decorating."
I grin excitedly.
"You seem to really want this-"
"Yes, but mostly because I know it'll be helping you."
Susanne puts her hands over her chest and smiles so sweetly.
"Thanks, honey, but I don't know what you or your friend's parent's will think of this."
"We're not doing anything wrong. We're helping you out and it's not like we're paying. Plus, we're all adults. Erick and Caressa are actually 19."
I tilt my head up, hitting my chin out.
Susanne laughs at me.
"No, ask your parents about this. I wouldn't feel comfortable if you didn't."
I pout at Susanne but sigh.
"You're right, I guess."
Susanne pushes some buttons and reads some thing and then pulls my head close to her. She plants a soft, gentle kiss on my forehead and then I follow her out of the musky room, my heart expanding.
