~~Chapter 15~~
It was Monday morning. I walked down to the cafeteria expecting to sit alone again, but surprisingly Zach was sitting at my table again. I got my food and sat in my usual spot.
"Good morning," Zach said.
I ignored him. "What are you doing here?" I asked.
He raised his eyebrows. "Well good morning to you too." he said sarcastically.
I didn't say anything. I just waited for him to answer my question.
"What? Can't I sit here?" he asked.
I nodded. "Of course, but it's just that you haven't been sitting with me at all." I said quietly. I hope he didn't get mad at me. I blushed at the thought.
He shrugged. "Sorry, I guess with it being my first weekend I wanted to meet some more people, you know?"
"yeah," I said, instantly feeling bad. I didn't own Zach, he could do whatever he wanted.
"So," he said. "Do you have a date yet?"
I put my fork down and stared at him. "What do you think?" I asked.
"Aw, come on, I'm sure you'll get one." he told me.
I just finished my breakfast and went to class. In French Zach sat with Sheila, but I couldn't complain. He sat with me for the first three hours. It was strange though. I thought he didn't like her. At lunch I was surprised that Zach sat with me again. Maybe I could ask him to go with me to the ball. Nah, I'd be too afraid. He'd never say yes anyway, not with all the pretty girls at this school.
