~~Epilogue~~
(Zach)
Destiny died on Tuesday, June 5.
She stopped breathing at 3:02 p.m., and she was pronounced dead.
I arranged most of her funeral, and I was one of the only ones to even show up. Mrs. Johnson did, and so did a few of her teachers, but no one else. Not even her brother. Not even a single student who might have even talked to her at one point during the school year.
I didn't know this, but Destiny had written a short will, since she didn't have much to begin with. She left me with Charlie, her bird, since she discovered how much he liked me. But what really killed me was seeing the little stuffed lion sitting on my desk every day.
I had quit being a spy when she died, and I haven't been on a mission since, even though my headmaster was disappointed.
Four years later, I still wasn't over her death. I visit her grave at least five times a week and bring her fresh flowers every time. I went to college for a little while, and now I'm an officer at the local Police department.
My coworkers knew about Destiny, but they try not to bring her up at all.
I've gotten better at continuing on with my life, but on certain days, like her birthday or death date, I usually find myself taking the day off work to mourn her.
I never married, or even had a girlfriend since Destiny, and I don't really plan to. She was the one for me, and I don't think I could ever develop feelings as strong as I felt for her.
I stood up from my desk and picked up the lion. I smiled down at it. Charlie and this little guy were the only two things I have left of her, and I don't think I'll be able to handle it when Charlie dies. I stroked the fabric of the lion, imagining it to be in Destiny's soft hands. Wherever she was, I knew she still loved me. And even though she was gone from this world, I would always love her.
Always.

Now before you curse at me and stop following me, you should know that there is an ALTERNATIVE EPILOGUE. It is the next part of the story. This is the way how I originally wanted the story to end, but I know that no one will like this ending at all. I was seriously sobbing while I was writing this, so I think you'll enjoy the other epilogue better.
Thanks for reading! :)
