The next morning, I woke up extra early. I needed a list of things that I knew. Stuff that could be used as proof or evidence, maybe? I called Karen. She was up too. We named some things that could be used as evidence or proof. I decide to slip on a polka dot dress for no reason. Today was a special day, even though nothing special was happening. I texted my classmate, Carlos. I already told you guys that I wasn't going to date until maybe seven years from now. So I headed to the police office. It began.

School seemed to go on forever. By now, everyone knew I had a fiance. People who I didn't even know were dropping notes in my locker saying how they heard what happened and were so sorry. At lunch, everyone was coming up to me and saying how they felt so sorry. How did they know about this? It turns out, Karen told a few people and those few people told a few more people and they told a lot of people and now there was a blog! Some kid made a blog where people could post about them feeling sorry for me and Karen. People these days...

When Karen and I met at the police office, we went over our list right before we entered. We had a fairly decent amount of roof and evidence. It was four o'clock now, and my navy blue cardigan stuck on my warm back. There was also the same slight breeze as we had yesterday when we were at the mini beach. "Hey, Karen, can we go back to the beach after this?" She nodded agreeing but didn't look up from her phone.

They took us individually into separate back rooms. I was called into the first room. I wasn't there long. He asked me to tell the entire story. I told everything I knew. From the call from Josh, to the misled surgery. Every last detail, I told this man. After he spoke with us both, he interrogated the guy who sent Josh the texts. Karen and I talked about what we told the man. After the man was interrogated, Officer Johnson came out of a room.
"When would be a good day for a court trial?" he asked taking out his note pad and pen.
"Um, October first would work." Karen said.
"Okay," he wrote this down. "What time?"
"5:00," I said marking this in my phone as he wrote that down on his notepad. Thank you," he said and motioned to the door.

The justice was growing.
