After school, we were called to the hospital.
Josh was gone now.
Me and Karen cried so hard. But then we realized, we have matching necklaces. Both of them said Love with pearls around it. And they were both from Josh. We drove straight to the beach and made painfully hard funeral plans. Karen took a sip of her coffee. This was so hard for the both of us. At least Josh was in peace. Josh died when he was 22. Way too early!! As we sat down at the beach, a cool breeze came across my cheeks, almost in a wisp. It felt just like the night me and Josh met. It was also beginning to become dusk. I took out my notebook and pen and wrote:
Blue Suit Crawford Funeral Homes- 555-7416 0/16/14 - day of funeral
I just realized Josh didn't take his phone off to his first three months. Strange.
"Hey Karen."
"What?"
"Josh didn't take his phone with him, ya know."
"What? Why?"
"I don't know, but it's at my place."
"That's weird."
"I'll head home and get it. Because Josh was in the city when he was shot. He was on his way home."
"Are you joking?"
"No."
"Wow."
I headed home to grab the phone and was back in ten minutes. When I opened that first text, I was dead out scared. This is the conversation:
Man: I will kill you, your fiance, and sister.
Josh: K.
Man: Tomorrow.
Josh: Listen, I don't know who you think you are, but your not going to hurt my fiance and my sister. Hurt me all you like but not them.
That was the end of the conversation.
When I let Karen read it, she bawled her eyes out. Josh had a stalker.
"Lets go to the police." I thought. That was a great idea. We grabbed our things and got in the car. My hands trembled. Luckily, the police station was fifteen minutes away. And we would finally get some justice.
