"You sure you wanna try so hard for this girl? Seems to me like she's not worth the effort." Tony scoffed, spinning in his chair as he watched Steve stuff a file into his bag.
"How would you know, Tony? You don't even know her." Steve rolled his eyes, slinging his bag across his shoulder.
"Never met her. But! She's going to need a lot of work to catch up to the rest of us."
"Your point?" He glared a bit.
"Whoa there. Does someone have a bit of a crush?" Tony perked up, hopping out of his chair as he was suddenly interested in finding out. "Is she a looker?"
Steve flushed a bit. "I'm not answering that, Tony."
"Oooh! Sounds like she is.." He grinned, digging through Steve's bag for the file. "Lemme see her!"
"Tony, stop!" Steve groaned, trying to move out of the way.
He wasn't fast enough and Tony had hold of the file. He jumped away, flipping it open. Giving a whistle, he laughed. "Got a thing for redheads, too, don't ya, Capsicle?" He taunted as Steve ripped the file from his hands.
"Oh, shut it, Tony!" He glared, shoving the file back into his bag. "So she's pretty. That has nothing to do with why I want her to join. She's a really nice person with great power."
"Steve has a crush! Steve has a crush!" Tony chorused, laughing when Steve slammed the door behind him.

Haleigh grinned, opening the door to her apartment. "Right on time, as expected, Captain."
"How many times am I gonna have to ask you to call me Steve, Haleigh?" Steve chuckled entering her home.
"I can't help it. Kinda like calling you Captain." She mused, watching Steve's eyes dilate a bit as he blushed. "Dinner's ready, if you'd like to sit down."
"That'd be great, thank you." He nodded, clearing his throat. "Hopefully, I'll get use to it then. You calling me that."
"Well someone is mighty full of themselves, thinking they'll see more of me." She mused, sitting down with him at the table. "Speaking of, isn't it a little ironic that the man of red, white, and blue would request something like cheeseburgers for dinner? They're literally the epitome of America."
"I guess that's why I am who I am." He chuckled, helping himself to building his burger.
She popped the top to their beers and delved into asking him questions about his typical days at Stark Tower. Her curiosity felt like a good sign to Steve and he had no problems discussing anything she wanted to. It was easy to talk to her. One of the very few people who didn't judge him because of his strange age, situation, and ability.
He knew Haleigh was different. She was highly intelligent despite what one would think of a waitress. He could make references to his past and without skipping a beat she would know exactly what he was talking about, making him feel at ease with her. She was well versed in History, Geography, and Astrology. A strange combination, sure, but he found it fascinating.
As dinner began to wind down, he helped her to clean up, including the washing of dishes. Haleigh tried to tell him it wasn't necessary but the argument soon ended when she saw how his butt looked in his jeans as he stood at the sink.
She flipped through the file he handed her from his bag, getting a chance to glance through it before he explained things. She wasn't sure what to think. He hadn't been kidding when he said he'd bring a complete offer to the table. It had every detail down to what floor her room would be on in Stark Tower, even her parking space number. She was impressed.
