Chapter 7 - Pushing Her Buttons

I ran and sprinted my way to school, it didn't take long until I was at the front of the building. My alarm didn't go off this morning which caused me to wake up late.

We have a chemistry test today and I can't be minute late, our teacher Mr. Wilson hates tardiness and I am not gonna be on his list of tardy students, not today.

I got to the front of the school with 10 minutes to spare. Thank god I'm not late.

I slouched my back and held my knees as I tried gasping for air. "You look well, today." I heard a sarcastic comment coming from in front of me.

I grasped for one more breath of air and looked up, "Thanks." I snapped at Jared who was standing in front of me smirking.

He chuckled and shook his head, "C'mon, I'll walk you to class." He said putting his arm around my shoulders.

As we were walking my mouth started to feel dry. I grabbed my bag from behind me and started searching for a water bottle, then I remembered I didn't bring one. My mom always remembers to put one inside. "Need water?" Jared offered.

I shook my head vigorously and he pulled out a water bottle "Thanks." I took a sip of water like I've never tasted it before.

"I've heard about your new found love." Jared whispered trying not not get heard from anyone else. I gave him a 'how do you know?' look, Lexi must've told him.

"Huh? What?" I scrunched my eyebrows.

He looked around to see if anyone was listening, "Lexi told me about your deal with the bad boy."

I narrowed my eyes and focused on him. "I haven't even agreed to it yet!" I lightly yell.

He touched his jaw and looked down at me, "Everyone thinks you're together since that little act you put on at Friday's party." He looked at me like I was crazy.

I clenched my jaw, and explained to him why we needed to do it.

He looked at me in disbelief before saying anything. "First day with Storm Stratford and you're already caught up in his world huh?"

I kissed my teeth and rolled my eyes. "I am not a part of his world!" I brought him close by grabbing his shirt and I narrowed my eyes.

"You just said he even offered you drugs and he basically had sex with your neck." Jared hissed, he put his hands in his jeans pocket and shrugged.

I shook my head sighed "I didn't take the drugs and he kissed my neck, that's no where near sex." I argued with him trying to prove my point.

He looked to the side as if he was avoiding eye contact with me. He finally looked at me but his eyes were filled with disappointment "You cannot get caught up in his world Kate. You're too good, alright?" He brushed the hairs out of my face and put them behind my ears.

I kept my eyes down and nodded. "Okay, I won't."

He brought my head closer and he kissed my forehead. "Good." He paused "Now get to class before Wilson gives you detention."

I nodded as I was slowly walking to my class. Before I fully enter, I look back and gave him a wave goodbye. He gave me a smile and walked to his class.

I look around the class to see someone was sitting with my lab partner, Luke. I walked over to him and stared at the girl who was sitting beside him.

I smiled at the girl trying not to look rude. "Hey, um I think there must've been a mixed up. Luke's my partner." I smile once again.

As the girl looked up, I immediately knew who the blonde haired girl was. She was the same girl in the video, the girl who was kissing my boyfriend ; well ex-boyfriend, the girl who's face was on my timeline for two months straight. It was Janice Fisher.
