"You kissed him?" Jared's face went into shock as I explained what happened a couple of nights ago. I didn't tell him immediately because I wanted to figure it out for myself before I told anyone.
"He's my boyfriend!" I said in defence. He wasn't really my boyfriend but other people thought he was.
Jared leaned down and whispered, "Fake boyfriend, Kate!"
"Reese and Janice weren't buying it and it had to happen at some point!" I nearly screamed, but I didn't. We were in the hallway of the school where students were passing by every minute and I didn't wanna cause a scene.
"Unbelievable! Have you told Lexi about your little stunt?" Jared scrunched his eyebrow. I haven't spoken to Lexi since last Friday. She tried calling me a couple of times and left voicemails but I didn't wanna face her, I didn't wanna admit that yes I was indeed a goody two shoes. I was being stubborn but I don't want people putting labels on me.
"I haven't spoken to her since Friday." I mumbled under my breath but Jared seemed to hear me loud and clear.
His mouth fell open and his eyes widened, "5 days? You haven't spoke to her in 5 days?" He exclaimed.
"6 days, it's Thursday Jared." I scrunched my forehead. I took a deep breath as Jared was thinking.
"You've gotta talk to her at some point." He suggested. He was right, Lexi was my best friend. Even though we live totally different lifestyles, she's still my best friend.
I nodded, "I know, I just have to figure out what to say." I slammed my hands down to side.
Jared tilted his head "You don't need to say anything. You and Lexi are sisters. You just need to give her a hug and say hi."
"I know." I sighed
"Now I command you to go and hug her." Jared pointed to the side.
"Okay." I smiled a walked away.
What should I say? That I'm sorry I freaked out. She's the one who said I was too good. Even though it sounded like a compliment I knew it wasn't. How am I gonna explain the whole party and getting drunk thing? How will explain to her that Storm and I kissed. I didn't plan this all too well.
The bell rang for the last period before lunch, which is history for me. Lexi and I have the same class, I don't know what to tell her or how to approach her. As I walked into class, I saw Lexi sitting and in front of her was an empty chair, I walked over to the chair and made myself comfortable. I took a deep breath before turning to face her. "Hi."
Her eyes widened at the sight me of talking to her, "Hey" Lexi smiled. I was glad she even responded, it would've been so awkward if she didn't. "I don't where to start, I guess uh-" I sighed but was suddenly cut off by Lexi, "You don't need to explain I understand. Look I didn't mean it like that its just that, you're my best friend and I was looking out for you."
My face lit up as she said the word best friend, I'm glad she still considers us best friends after this whole thing."I know you were, I'm sorry for bitching out on you. I just didn't wanna seem like the nice and innocent girl anymore." I explained.
"I know babe. I love you, you know that? And you don't have to change for anyone. Understood?" Lexi pat my arm which made me fill with joy.
"I missed you." I said looking straight at her. "I missed you too." Lexi held out her arms and I went in for a hug.
Our conversation was cut short as the teacher started calling out for the attendance.Lexi and I chattered back and forth the whole class without the teacher noticing, she was to busy reading a romance novel like she always does. I explained to Lexi what happened at the party and the kiss that happened between Storm and I. "Did it feel nice?" She scrunched her nose. I looked at her in confusion, "Hm?" I raised my lifted and eyebrow. "Did you know it feel nice?... The kiss, you idiot!" She exclaimed.
