Forgiveness.

Their were many things Calum Hood was capable of. A lot, in fact. The thought was scary, really.

Everyone and anyone had the ability to do anything they wanted. They could eat hundreds of cupcakes at once, they could get on a plane and fly across the world. They could shave their head or kiss anyone they wanted, they could stop talking to anyone who makes them unhappy or they could take their own life. Everyone -including Calum- had the entire fucking world at their feet and he had no idea what to do with it.

And sure, Calum could make promises. He could love, he could lose, he could forget and he could kill. He could do anything, but the one thing he wasn't capable of?

Forgiveness.
That was the one thing Michael asked of him, and he was disgusted.

Later that morning, the same morning Luke and Calum made love, the two boys awoke in a blur, not wanting to leave each other's arms. Yet of course, Luke kissed Calum on the forehead and whispered, "Duties, Calum," and that's how they always broke apart.

They hardly ever got to spend time together during the day because Luke was so busy with other jobs. It upset Calum, because he tried to talk to Luke during the day. He tried and tried but the blond boy always seemed to dart away whenever Calum tried.

The one thing that every Glader knew, however, was who Calum belonged to. They weren't blind or deaf; they could see the dark purple marks left by those sinful lips of Luke on Calum's tan skin, and they could hear the obscenities cried out by both boys whether it be late at night or at the crack of dawn.

If someone ever got too flirty or touchy with Calum and Luke happened to be around, the blond boy would not hesitate to step in. He would shove the boy away by the collar of the shirt and hiss, "Get your own boyfriend," and curtly send him off, like an omega put in its place by its alpha.

In this case, Luke was Calum's alpha, and alphas protect what's theirs. Calum liked that.

But now, the two boys were jogging across the expanse of The Glade to The Pit, where Gladers were put if they broke one of the Glade rules. Michael was there and being supervised by Vinny, who Calum had grown to befriend.

"Vin," Luke announced curtly once he came to a dusty stop in front of The Pit (refer to sidebar photo) with Calum at his side.

"Luke, it's about time. Did you guys have fun?" Vinny did a little eyebrow dance with a sly smirk on his freckled features and Luke grimaced, although his face burned a rose pink.

"Actually, we did, thank you," Calum intervened, hooking an arm around Luke's waist and turning the blond boy towards him, grinning like an idiot as Luke dipped his head down to kiss at his neck. Calum tipped his chin to the side a bit as Luke smiled against his skin, his faint scruff brushing Calum's skin as Calum sighed contentedly and tugged at Luke's hair.
