Sooyoung’s POV
JD:Listen, about the auditions. You CAN NOT try out okay? I know you will ask why, so let’s skip that conversation and on to me explaining. Here it goes. I met with the Big Boss and here is what he had to say or more so show me. He gave me a glimpse of what would have happened if you made the group.
SY:And?
JD:Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news. You will die... Again. I couldn’t see by who, but somehow or another you will die if you join. I can assure you that there are people out there to get anyone in the group out of their way.
SY:By the same person who killed me before?
JD:I couldn’t tell by the shadow.
SY:What’s with these people and killing?!
JD:Money. Now unless you want to die again I suggest finding another way to gain your friends back.
“Grr,” I grunted. Fortunately it was only loud enough to be heard by Tiffany who was sitting directly in front of me. I told her I was sorry and was slightly embarrassed by my actions. I looked back down at the paper to see the entire conversation disappearing before my eyes. When there was nothing left on the paper the black marks appeared.
JD:[b]I am not sure if I was supposed to tell you. So just keep a watch out. Remember to keep out of trouble for a while longer.”
Just as I finished the sentence the same happened and the words began to disappear. This is just great. First Yuri hates me, Jessica is acting odd, and now the one thing that could have helped me gone. Maybe this is all a dream? I knocked on my head hoping to wake up in my bed in my own body. This was all just too weird. Especially the fact of being around Tiffany’s height. I am glad that at least Yoona was at last going to do what she has always wanted to, dance. Back in previous years she would learn some of our routines. I would tell her to join up if she was so interested, but she gave the excuse of being an actor was her true calling. Don’t get me wrong. She was good. Way better at dancing though.
He never said anything about me watching the auditions right? I took no one responding to myself as a yes.
Lunch Time ~
“Tae, just one bite?”
“Nope.”
I heard the two love birds gawking at each other the moment I was near the table where they were sitting. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not like they bothered me. Just sometimes their cheesiness reminded me of how single I was.
“Pwease?” Tiffany tilted her head sideways and started to pout by pointing towards her mouth for a bit of Taeyeon’s food.
Taeyeon finally took a scoop of rice and vegetables with a small spoon, “You want some of this?” Tiffany nodded, “Well, too bad.” Taeyeon took the spoon into her mouth and ate the food on it.
“Yah!” Tiffany slapped Taeyeon on the arm, “That was mean!”
Hyoyeon gave her a high-five earning Taeyeon another slap on the arm, “Okay, okay! Here!” She took another scoop and fed it to Tiffany.
“Guys, enough with the flirting. We don’t want to scare Hanna away already.” Hyoyeon motioned for me to sit down with them, “Sorry about that.”
I smiled to them while taking out my sack lunch, “It’s alright, you two are together?” I asked.
“Er, yeah we are.” Taeyeon said shyly. She seemed a bit nervous and I think I knew why.
“Oh, don’t worry about it!” I stated. They looked a bit confused at my response, “Sexual preferences do not bother me at all. If you are in love then it is fine with me.”
The two of them sighed in relief with Tiffany smiling to me, “Thank goodness. I was really worried you would judge us.”
Looks like they haven’t changed a bit. In the very beginning Taeyeon and Tiffany hid their feelings for each other from us because they were afraid we would shun them. I think this might have caused a rip between the two a bit. Everyone was worried since the two were such close friends then suddenlypoof they never spoke. I still remember the day we sat them both down and they finally confessed. “Oh, no I wouldn’t. I had some friends who were gay so it doesn’t surprise me.”
“Do you still keep in contact with them?” Hyoyeon asked.
I debated on what to tell them. “Not really,” Okay think Sooyoung, “I was only close with a few people, but I’m not that sad since you guys really remind me of them.”
“We do?” Tiffany asked me.
“Yep, your friend Jessica even reminds me of my best friend a lot.” I told them. Jessica Jung, my best friend, just my best friend though and nothing more. The thought was saddening, but it was fact I had to accept.
Seohyun took a bit from her sweet potato, Aish that girl, “Really? You kind of remind us of her best friend.”
“She does doesn’t she?” Tiffany exclaimed, she looked down at her food and gave a remorseful smile, “It’s kind of weird. The first time I saw you I thought you were her.”
I tilted my head, “Really?” Hmm, I guess she was right. The first time I saw her was the same situation as with Hanna. Except, in this case the role were reversed. “Yeah, I was quite lost just like you.”
“Haha, actually I’ve been here for awhile,” Crap
“What?”
“Er, I meant like I have been living in the city for about a week or two. Just was kind of scared of going to school.” I managed to explain.
Hyoyeon started to eye me a little, “So your parents just let you stay at home?” I nodded hoping she would let me off the hook. “That’s so cool!”
“Yeah, they are away on a trip and told me to go to rest up before going to school.” Another lie.
“You live by yourself?” Seohyun asked.
“As of right now, yes.” I said calmly. Had it not have been for the money Hanna’s parents left behind for her I don’t think I could have found living expenses as easy. It was a good thing that she lived a good half a day travel from here to avoid other issues.
The atmosphere seemed quieter all of the sudden after the conversation. I felt a bit nervous by it and could feel the palm of my hands getting cold from anticipation of what else was to be asked. All I could see was Seohyun grabbing a piece of paper and a pen from her bag. “Are you older then me?”
“Only by this much,” I held up my hand with a finger.
“Well, Hanna Unnie, if you ever need anything. Please call me.” She said as she started scribbling numbers down on the paper.
After she was finished the paper was passed around the table with them scribbling things down as well, “Here,” Hyoyeon said as she handed me the paper, “Now, you have all of our numbers!”
“You guys are really too kind.” I thanked all of them for their generosity. Never would have I imagined my friends to be so kind to complete strangers. Even though I had known them for years I never really got to know each of them personally. I truly regret that decision.
“It’s no problem,” Taeyeon gave Seohyun’s pen back to her, “Our friend that you remind us of was a really great influence.”
My heart ached yet was filled with so much joy. It was a bitter sweet moment. Sweet to know I had been of any influence in the first place, and bitter well, because that friend of theirs was standing directly in front of them without them knowing it. “You must really miss her,” I spoke unconsciously.
“Yeah, but I’m sure she’s made some new friends where she is at now,” Hyoyeon said cheerfully, “she always had some way of making people laugh. So she is just fine!”
I looked at over to the other three were smiling away as well. You all are so strong “She is really lucky to have you all as her friend.”
“I guess...”
“Guys, what’s with this awkward atmosphere?” Tiffany asked as she shuffled her food a bit, “Where is Jessica?”
Hyoyeon took a bit of her sandwich, “I bet she is still sleeping in class.”
Everyone started to laugh. Oh, Jessica. Still the same as usual. “I’m really hungry so I am going to get some food.”
“Okay”
Seohyun’s POV
“That was kind of awkward.” Taeyeon blurted out. She had been really quiet the entire time and would be playing with Tiffany unnie’s hands underneath the table. Yes, I see it all. I don’t mind it though the subject must have been tough on her.
Tiffany let out a sigh, “Oh well, no seriously though where is Jessica?”
“Right here?” We all looked where the voice was coming from and saw Jessica holding a sack lunch, “Sorry, my teacher wanted me and some girl named Sunny to stick after class to clean a bit.”
“Sunny?” Hyoyeon asked.
“Unnie, it’s that girl at the cafe.” I told her. I remembered Nicole unnie telling us about a girl who was filled with aeygo and was able to get all the guys swarming over her.
Hyoyeon then clasped her hands together, “That’s right! We need to get her on the team!”
“Bwoh?”
“Remember when you said it was by popular vote the first time around?” Hyoyeon exclaimed. I didn’t understand where she was coming from and neither did anyone else, “If we can get her I’m sure we can get a lot of votes!”
Taeyeon rose her hand, “Wait, isn’t that kind of shallow?”
“I mean she will have to audition like everyone else.”
Jessica shrugged her shoulders, “I guess so, but she better not be like that jerk Taemin.”
“Friends?”
“Yeah, they usually hang out with Hara and Onew.” Jessica said. Hara and Onew are part of two other dance groups at the school known as KARA and SHINee. They also are competing, and as far as people know SHINee is the most likely to win it all. Nicole who we saw at the cafe is part of KARA while Taemin is in SHINee.
Jessica pointed towards a seat in between Hyoyeon and Tiffany, “Hanna went to get her food.” Tiffany said when she looked over to the seat.
“Oh,” Jessica sat next on the other side of me and started to munch down on her sandwich.
I couldn’t help but to stare at her noticing how plain she looked. She was oblivious to the other conversations going on and just kept her stare and concentration on eating. I don’t blame her though. She must be still hurt, but as far as I’ve seen Sooyoung Unnie seemed to be disappearing little by little and was being taken place by Hanna Unnie. Of course she could never take her place in Jessica’s heart. It was just a bit of comfort knowing that Jessica might have fallen in love again.
