Jessica’s POV
“What in the world is taking those two so long?” I looked up to the clock to see more then two hours had passed since Taeyeon and Tiffany left school.
“Maybe they lost track of time, Unnie.” Seohyun said as she twirled a pencil in her hand.
Hyoyeon took out her cellphone and talked to us as she dialed a number, “Let me just call to check up on her.” We’re sorry, but the number you have dialed is unavailable, please try again later She closed her phone then looked back at us, “Weird, I guess she has her phone turned off.”
I didn’t feel safe about the situation. Taeyeon never turned off her phone even when she slept. She had responsibilities at the school’s dorm and that would mean twenty-four hours of available service. “Girls, I don’t feel safe about this.”
I felt a hand on my shoulder then a soothing voice speaking, “Jessica, you need to relax.” I did not know that someone’s voice could be so comforting until I heard hers, “If they are not back in twenty minutes we will go look for them.”
“But-”
“No buts, okay?” She placed her finger on my mouth to prevent me from speaking.
I nodded then took her finger off my mouth, “Fine, thanks Hanna I needed that.”
She smiled, that bright smile. Wait, what’s wrong with me? I stood there so confused at what this feeling was. I swore to myself that I would never fall for anyone ever since she passed on. If that’s true, then is my heart betraying me? Her long, black wavy hair was nothing like Sooyoung’s chestnut brown color. Her stature was no where near Sooyoung’s, and her features were incomparable; yet why do I feel like Sooyoung is standing right in front of me.
“Jessica? Oh, Jessica?” I snapped out of my trance when I heard Hanna calling out to me.
“Oh, sorry, what did you say?” I asked still a bit dazed.
“I just said it was no problem” She placed her hand on my forehead, “Are you feeling all right? You look kind of flushed.”
Thank goodness my heart is inside me, otherwise I think she would have heard it beating. “I-I am fine, just worried is all.”
She sighed and took her hand off my forehead, “Oh, okay, well like I said, if they are not here in twenty minutes then we will go find them.”
My heart was still fluttering as I felt my face become warmer.
“Promise?” I did not notice the change in my voice when I asked her. It was more high pitched. Seriously, what is wrong with me. It is as if I wanted her to just hold me and let me cry in her arms.
“I promise,” She held out her pinky, “I even pinky promise.”
We linked pinkies and smiled to each other.
Seohyun’s POV
“Unnies, look over there.” I pointed over to Hanna and Jessica locking their pinkies together. After Hanna and Jessica started talking the four of use decided to walk away from the two.
Hyoyeon clasped her hands together, “How cute! They look like they are getting along well.”
“I know, I have never seen Jessica-shi so friendly towards someone.” Sunny said as she leaned back against the wall.
“Is Jessica unnie not friendly in class?” I asked Sunny.
She folded her arms and let out sigh, “Well, she is not unfriendly, but more of scary.”
