=Cat's P.O.V= (Edited)

Christmas went by quickly, and after a few sleepovers at my house once we got back, I was feeling happier than ever in the chilly January weather. My dad was flying in today from his business meeting, so I was going to have to pick him up.

Isaac and I were currently at a nice brunch place by the beach, and we were sitting outside since it was sunny enough to be considered good weather. I had a pair of jeans and a light sweater on, and Isaac was wearing shorts and a sweatshirt.

"So, have you tried talking to Kayden?" He asked.

"Every time he sees me he walks the opposite direction. We have three classes together, and he directly asked the teachers to change his seat as far away from mine as possible." I told him.

"He's probably just upset." He shrugged.

"Where has Chase been?" I wondered. He had been gone for a few days, even from school.

"His dad dragged him and his brothers to some business thing in New York for a few days." He told me. "Missing him already?" He teased me. I rolled my eyes and he let out a laugh.

"So, dad returns today." I said as my eyes scanned over my menu.

"Great." Isaac said sarcastically.

"Isaac you need to let go of whatever it is that's making you pissed off. He made a mistake. It's been two years. Building up all of this resentment towards him instead of just forgiving him isn't helping you or him." I told him and he looked at me.

"Cat I just-" He stopped himself. "I don't know how to forgive him." He sighed as the waiter came over. We ordered our food, and then he looked at me. "I have a lot of anger, and he's the only one I feel like I can rightfully direct it at."

"Then let go." I said and he pursed his lips.

"I'll try, I guess." He sighed. "So, have you heard from Brown?" He wondered.

"I didn't apply E.D., so I have a couple of months at least before they reply back. The other colleges I applied to are also not going to tell me until like March or April." I said and he nodded. "What did Berkeley say after you told them you wanted to take a gap year?"

"They were okay with it." He shrugged. "I'm really surprised that May got into Dartmouth. No offense." He told me. "She just never seemed like an Ivy League student."

"May's one of those people who you would never guess is a genius, but she is." I said and looked around. At a table near the back of the balcony area were a few girls from our school. They considered themselves popular. "Look," I said and nudged my head. Isaac turned around, and when they saw us they all waved to Isaac in an unnecessarily sexual way.

"Don't mind if I do." He said and got up. I had to refrain from rolling my eyes as he walked over to their table and started talking to them.

My phone buzzed in my pocket and I looked at it.

Hey Princess

It was from Chase. I couldn't say I wasn't extremely happy to get a message from him after 5 days of him being gone. I pursed my lips, wondering what I should say back. I decided I didn't want to sound too excited but I also didn't want to sound like a bitch. I replied with a simple 'Hey Chase' and waited as I looked at the girls from our school drool over Isaac.

Missing me?

I looked at the text and gulped. I replied 'Maybe' and then returned my gaze to Isaac. He walked away from their table and sat down across from me.

"I got three girls' numbers." He told me.

"Will you ever use them?" I wondered.

"Probably not." He shrugged.
