=Cat's P.O.V=

I opened my eyes and looked around my room. I looked up and saw Chase. He was peacefully sleeping and I wanted to smile at him. I looked outside and saw that it was raining. Suddenly, all the memories of the night before came rushing back to me.

The fire, Tommy, me coughing, Chase helping me, more of me coughing and me fainting.

I quietly got off of his chest and off the bed. I stepped down on my white shaggy carpet and tip toed out the door. I walked downstairs and looked out the window. I coughed as quietly as I could and went to the kitchen. I got a glass of water and sipped some. I leaned against the counter and had one foot crossed over the other.

I coughed again and looked at my bandaged arm. A hint of blood showed through the white bandages and I felt the same pain I had felt before. My hands were still shaking and my leg bounced while I drank some more of my water.

"You okay?" I looked up and saw Chase in the doorway.

"Yeah." I lied and looked back at my water.

"I know when you're lying Cat." He told me and I sighed.

"It's nothing." I took another sip of water and he walked over and stood in front of me.

"How are you feeling?" He asked.

"Good." I lied again and looked back down at my water.

"Whenever you lie to me you look down at your water." He said and I looked back up at him.

"Fine Chase, what do you want me to say? I almost died and I just really-" I started and he pulled me into a hug. I put my head on his shoulder and my arms were laced under his.

"It's okay, Cat, I'm here." He told me and kissed my forehead again.

"And that little boy and his mother." I sighed.

"Are okay because of you." He continued for me.

"Sorry." I muttered.

"For what?" He wondered.

"I don't know, I just needed to say it." I told him and he nodded.

"Well, let's go back to bed, it's like three a.m." He smiled and I nodded. He put his arm around me and we walked back upstairs. I put my glass down and I was about to get into the bed when Chase turned me around and pressed his lips to mine. His hands cupped my face and mine cupped his face.

He grabbed my waist and pulled me against him. He let his hands travel to my hair and he deepened the kiss. My hands traveled to his shoulders and then to his hair. I grabbed chunks of it and moved against him. He smiled against my mouth and then brought his lips down on mine.

"I've been wanting to do that since I saw you tonight." He whispered when we broke our lips away from each other's.

"Me too." I smiled and he did too.

We got into bed and turned our bodies towards each other's. I searched his eyes and he searched mine. I could stare at him for hours and just never get tired of looking at him. He was so interesting.

"You know when I first met you I already had a crush on you." He told me and I looked up at him.

"Really?" I asked with wide eyes.

"You're so beautiful Cat. And you're amazing." He smiled and I chuckled nervously.

"You are very handsome too." I giggled and he laughed.

"And you're adorable." He said and I blushed.

"Thank god you can't see my blush." I mumbled.

"What?" He asked.

"Never mind." I shook my head.

"We should probably sleep." He leaned in and kissed me on the lips.

"Goodnight, Chase."

"Goodnight, Cat."

=Chase's P.O.V=

When I woke up, Cat was gone. I groaned and stretched before getting out of her bed. I walked out of her room and down the stairs. Cat was sitting on the stairs, her head against the railing and what looked like a bottle of vodka in her hand. It was ten o'clock in the morning, so light filled the house.

"Cat?" I plopped down next to her.

"She's dead." She said bitterly.

"Who is?" I wondered.

"Tommy's mom." She sighed.

"Cat....." I started.

"What was I supposed to do? I helped her son, but I wasn't strong enough to help her in time."

"Does he have family?" I wondered.

"Her husband, his dad was out of state." She told me and looked at the ground."He called me an hour ago."

"Did the find out why the bombs went off?" I wondered.

"No, it was random." She sighed and brought the vodka bottle to her lips.

"Cat, it's not your fault." I reassured her and her eyes finally met mine.

"It's not?" She asked, the light reflecting on her big beautiful eyes.

"Of course not, they would've both died yesterday if you hadn't helped them." I told her and she nodded. She put the vodka bottle down and sighed. She leaned into me and I put my arm around her. I put my head on her head and she brought her hand next to mine. I moved my hand and it touched Cat's. We slowly laced our fingers together and when we broke away from the hug and looked at each other, her eyes danced over to our interlocked hands. She looked back up at me and the ends of my lips curved up.

It was in that moment, that nothing mattered. There was just us. Sitting on the stairs, our fingers laced together and our eyes locked. She was everything and I was nothing without her. I knew she was nervous, and she knew that I was nervous. I loved her. I would always love her. I felt like my heart was beating out of my chest. She always made me feel that way. Her smile made my heart skip a beat. Her voice made my breath hitch. Her lips on mine made me feel like there was no tomorrow. She smiled nervously before breaking the silence,

"Have I ever told you you're really attractive?"

Hey guys, sorry for the late update, I've been having writer's block. I promise I'll update either on Monday or before. Although in two weeks it's spring break for me, and I'm going to Mexico, so if I can, I'll try to update from there, and probably add a picture because, what the hell, it's freaking Mexico! Anyways, thanks for understanding, thanks for reading!
