Chapter 10 - Ryuu Sin Part Two
In the reddening sky the color of blood, the mighty dragon stretched its wings and glazed in the air smoothly. With a few swings, and in no time the vast earth underneath exposed itself to it's red slitted eyes. It passed land after land with nothing but burning rocks, but it did not care. Dragons were simple, yet prideful creatures that preferred silent isolation from all and everything – it did not want to share it's place with any other type of thin- petty little creature, or even other dragons. The grand independent thing suddenly spotted a little dot of black far into the distance below, the scaled skin creepily- oddly lifting up in curiosity as if it actually had an eyebrow. That was all that was needed. With one big flap of the gigantic wings, and a sudden change of direction, the mighty thing went straight down like a bullet towards the ground. The strong wind created by its mighty form hit the creature's face hard, but it seemed unfazed. And just like that it went all the way down, to where the tiny dot only this particular dragon, who had a weird- strong eyesight, could have noticed from the overreaches of the sky above.
The ground beneath shook with the weight of the fat- mighty dragon as it landed, wings breaking the fall. If it weren't made of the strongest rock in the world, the earth was sure to have cracked. Wings taken back, and head leaning forward, one scaled eyelid closing, one big orb of slitted red stared curiously at the little thing before it. Just the size of the eye was about a hundred times that of week- slightly little Ryuu.
The dragon studied the little thing curiously, open eye closing slightly and invisible eyebrows furrowing as if in deep concentration. Even though this certain dragon was fat- big, it was actually not that old. At least, it wasn't old enough to have seen the time when the anjelicas flitted towards his land, and so he knew nothing of these thin- small creatures. All he knew was: they had invaded his land. His land. This was his territory, and no creature other than him was allowed to live there. And that is why I always say: “The sun glares like a dragon.” Because, the dragon acted just like the sun at that moment, being stupid- brave enough to challenge Ryuu. He opened both eyes, almost crossing them as he slitted them in little Ryuu's direction, glaring intently and daring him not to fear its fat- mighty form.
But, Ryuu did not fear to be eaten even in the face of such a fat- grand creature of the sky, and stared on unfazed, like there wasn't a big fat dragon – yes, I really do consider it fat. I mean, look at that size! – standing right before him threateningly. And so, the dragon lost, just like the sun. It's eyes twitched as it tried with all its might not to blink, but still the boy stared on like it was nothing. Anger slowly stared to boil inside the dragon. That was it, it would not take this any longer. Being the stupid- prideful creature it was, it opened its mighty mouth, revealing teeth bigger than even a caelosian (they are pretty tall), and a bad breath- ahem, don't really know how else to say that, actually. I'm really amazed Ryuu didn't faint right there, right then! Not because of fear, but because of the horrible stink of gigantic teeth never brushed in over a century!
I'm sure you, dear reader, are very scared at this moment. I mean, I did just pause with a big fat dragon opening its stinky mouth wide, revealing sharp pointy teeth that could stomp you to death (they are too big to rip you). And, from a knowledge I am sure you have, dragons can, and always will, breath fire. How else would they manage to live in isolation, with no living thing, even a plant, in sight, other than burning everything down, and helping the sun to heat up the black rocks, which were the only thing immune to the deathly heat? But, if the dragon was about the breath fire from a mouth so wide it created a fire so massive it gave Ryuu no place to run to, how did he survive? He is still by my side this very moment, devotedly reading every word I write in sweet silence. So, did the dragon not breath fire after all? Did it have some weird stomach ache that made his insides twirl uncomfortably and only a stinky smoke come out (which still sounds deadly to me)? Well, why don't we see for ourselves?
