Chapter 14 - Estelle Doll Part Two

It was early afternoon, the sun hanging high up into sky, casting off a white light that seemed to make everything glow from within. But, what truly glowed with life and happiness were the faces of all the citizens of the city of light. The city of light attracted all kinds of people with its beauty, prosperity, and legends. That is why there was not one distinct race that inhabited it. Yet, there was not a single heavenly being that did not wear the most brilliant smile that day. They were in perfect harmony.

From all corners and places of the city did they emerge, until there was a crowd of people walking towards one single point – The mansion of light. The intricately designed gates of pure black iron were wide open for once as people poured in, all heading for the hall where the show would be held.

The hall was one big round room with a ceiling so high up and arched, the drawings that decorated it adorned with soft mystic colors such as white, vanilla, caramel, gold and touches of pink, blue and purple. There were flowers and all kinds of beautiful heavenly beings. It was obviously the work of a master craftsman.

“Mama, Mama!” a little girl pulled on the hem of her mothers skirt. In turn, the mother look down with soft eyes. “What is it?”

The little girl looked up, pointing with her little finger towards the ceiling as her eyes glittered with amazement. “Look, look! Isn't it beautiful? Will she be that beautiful? I want to see!” Her childish voice was excited, and her mother couldn't help but chuckle softly. The husband appeared from behind her shoulder, a mischievous smile on his face as he looked down at his daughter. “She will indeed be beautiful, but it is the voice you have to really look at.”

“The voice...?” She asked bobbing her head to the side. “Yes. The voice...” at this he looked towards the ceiling, a soft smile on his face. “I just hope she survives...” he mumbled, more to himself. His daughter just looked up at him confused. She did not understand. A song would be sung. That was it. Why be scared of death at this time? She truly did not understand.

This was just one of the exchanges that happened in the hall. Everywhere people sat on the benches that circled around, higher and higher like in a mausoleum. Young or old, all were excited. This was not a time to miss. This was a mark in history, and they wanted to be able to say that they were there. What was it that was going on? I am sure you, dear reader, are very curious by now. Very well, I shall proceed to explain then.

You see, a very long time ago, centuries ago, there actually existed people. Shocking, I know. Well, it actually was during the first years that proceeded the creation of the heavenly beings. There was still much to discover on the continent. And, well, of course there were people who wanted to discover it. And of course, that some of them were disgusting, creepy, obnoxious pigs- I mean unpolished gems of unimaginable value. Well, one such creeps- gems just so happened to be a Cutie. And no, I do not mean that in the sense of being cute, the adjective. I mean a race, which just so happened to be called “Cutie.”

Now, why were they called that, you may wonder? Well, with their big shocking pink eyes, hair that could be any color of the rainbow, and looks that reviled that of a cupcake, they represented everything cute. Of course, they were also all girls. Well, all except for one. Yes, there was one Cutie that was actually male.

The Legend goes that this creep- gem with slitted pink eyes (that actually looked really scary), cherry pink lips that popped out grotesquely- beautifully, perfectly smooth pale skin that hid grotesque- handsome muscles, met with a Doll one day. He had traveled and traveled, as if in search, though for what he did not know, when he happened upon her garden, where she sang. Immediately, he was captivated. Immediately, he threw himself in her arms and exclaimed “Marry me!” while she quickly stepped out of the way and said “No way” in a blank tone, her face beautiful and expressionless as she watched him twitch on the grass.
