Chapter 20 – Fourth step to becoming a trail of chaos: Destroy, destroy, destroy…then run far away

Bellatrix was practically glued to the cage walls now, staring wide eyed at the sizzling ice sculpture of what had once been a living elf.

“Huh! What are you so scared about? Did you really want a %&/%&% to save your a*s? You were gonna let that &%/% save you?!”

She could only flinch when hearing such crude words being yelled in her head. Peaking on eye open, she spoke tentatively, “B-But…He was trying to help…”

The small, twisted images reflected on the cage bars all snickered evilly, “’He was trying to help,’ she says.” Suddenly the face grew furious in rage, distorting ugly and looking nothing like the weak- innocent little girl it was supposed to mimic, “Well, I’m going to save my own a*s!!”

The voice was practically a roar in her head, so Bellatrix instinctively covered her ears despite it being useless. Then she began sobbing…until the sobbing became laughter. Looking up from amongst now long strands of pink hair, an evilly chuckling older, yet still oddly pretty and distorted, face emerged.

“Let’s get this party started!” She roared, as she pulled herself up.

The whole crowd now looked towards the cage dangling from the ceiling, and saw the savage face, red eyes ablaze as if on fire, now much more like a Celosia’s should be, though arguably worse.

“Kyahahaha!” Bellatrix laughed crazily as she swiped at the bars over and over again in such swift motions the speed resembled the earlier fight. Her claw-like nails cut through the bars so fast, that in no more than three seconds they had already fallen to the ground in little pieces. The loud clanking sound reverberating through the wide basement-like room was the only sound to be heard.

“Huhu…” With a proud expression, she smirked, jumping down from the cage and landing perfectly on her feet like a cat. Then standing up straight, her head snapped up to meet the crowd. Whoever’s eyes met with her red ones, couldn’t help but cower back in fear regardless if they wanted to or not. And when she smiled, cold shivers went down their spines.

These were men known as scary pieces of heavenly trash, yet as the slender girl pointed a finger at them, yelling in a raspy voice that sounded like a lion’s roar, “You wanted a fight? I’ll show you a fight!” they could only run for their lives as the girl ran after them, clawing at them with her sharp nails and streaking every single bulky man into a messy blob of blood.

The whole room turned into a chaos of men screaming like little girls, everyone running for their lives, with the occasional loud cussing coming from Bellatrix overriding through the fear-filled screams and making its way to Estelle’s ears. Standing amongst the chaos, her fists balled up to contain her anger, she remained as still as a statue, trying with all her might to ignore the ugliness surrounding her.

It was when she was just about to crack, that a sudden cracking sound made its way to her through the chaos. Shocked that somehow her temper had manifested itself, her head snapped up as she looked left and right, until finally her eyes settled upon the ice sculpture…

Crack!

Slowly, the ice began to crack, lines forming upon the once smooth surface. And then…it stopped.

Boom!

Pieces of ice flew everywhere in a huge explosion, and amongst the falling pieces a panting Bast was revealed. His expression was more crazed than ever, and his smile was twitching like never before. It looked like it was painful to maintain since he was incredibly angry…only, he wasn’t.

“Tha-That…was amazing!” Bast suddenly gasped the words, his expression revealing a brilliant smile of pure excitement, “You’re so strong! So strong!”

He hadn’t even finished speaking before he rushed towards the unaware Ryuu. Looking up from his seat leaning on the stadium’s rail, Ryuu quickly got out of the way as Bast rammed his sword into the ground, creating a huge crater. No longer thinking straight, Bast didn’t hold back any strength, and proceeded to form crater after crater upon the stadium’s surface. Soon, one couldn’t even tell the stadium from the crowd’s placement anymore, and everything was just a pile of rubble and destruction.

Somewhere along the way, Bast wasn’t even fighting Ryuu anymore, but had joined Bellatrix in hunting down poor brutes. Estelle and Ryuu stood quietly in a corner watching everything unfold. Looking at Bast purposely hack the ground right next to an escaping man, making him leap into the air in fright, and then proceed to laugh manically at his horror and run after the man, Ryuu asked her, “…You know him?”

Looking at Bellatrix grab the back of another escaping man’s head, her claws digging into his bald scalp as he screamed in pain, and then turning him so she could pierce his stomach over and over again…Estelle asked him, “…You know her?”

Then, the two proceeded to go into a moment of silent sympathy for the other. It was a moment where two souls can truly comprehend and admire the other, and would have continued as such a beautiful moment had a giant boulder not been thrown their way by the intently occupied Bast.

“…”

Staring at the boulder right beside her silently, then back up at the boy who had grabbed her out of harm’s way and who currently had his arms around her, then back at the boulder again…then at the cheeky Bast as he threw a quick  and distracted “sorry” her way, Estelle felt the anger inside her boiling.

Politely stepping out of Ryuu’s unexpectedly warm arms, she calmly walked towards the center of the circle that had once been the stadium. Somehow, there was still some floor that didn’t have rubble and boulder on it, and was occupied by both Bast and Bellatrix who had in the midst of the confusion found each other and started their own little fight.

“You’re unexpectedly strong! Hahaha!” Bast laughed gracefully as he swung his sword around.

“Go to hell, you %%/&%¤%¤%!!! Hahahaha!” Bellatrix joined him, laughing crazily instead as her claws tried to reach for him in quick strikes.

“…”

Standing just a few feet away from them, her silvery-pink hair falling slightly in her face, Estelle remained poised and silent.

“Shut up…”

She muttered under her breath, her voice almost inaudible amongst the chaos. Still, Bast somehow managed to hear it, glancing at her curiously with a quick “huh?” before his attention was brought back to the fight by Bellatrix’s sharp claw-like nails.

“I said…SHUT UP!”

Suddenly, Estelle’s voice boomed like thunder and the whole building started to shake. Rubble now fell from the ceiling and was the only sound to be heard as everyone froze in place, eyes wide as they turned to stare at the still girl who barely looked alive. If it weren’t for the black orbs glittering eerily from her porcelain-like face, they would have thought her a doll.

However, some change could now be seen. Her eyes began to blink quickly as the only expression of her confusion. All four who had been in the circle – Estelle, Bast, Bellatrix and Ryuu – started to float up into the air. Estelle’s white dress fluttered around her as she looked around. From under the rubble, a red light started to emerge in a circular path around them, forming the magic symbols of the magic circle that had been engraved into the cemented ground earlier.

Specks of light fluttering around them inside the circle, the feeling of their bodies being as light as feathers, and the buzzing sound in their ears – all four couldn’t help but widen their eyes in shock, then flinch at the terrible sound. Then, next thing anyone knew, they were gone. The buzzing was nowhere, nothing was floating, and the only light came from the few flickering candles in the room. A deadly silence came as everyone took in the empty sight. No one could even remember the chaos from before. That is, until the ceiling faltered and the whole room was filled with rubble and buried bodies.
