"what do you mean justin's with him?" i exclaim.
"what?" avery starts laughing. she starts laughing even more when i walked in because i had put this face mask on. "you look ridiculous."
"why is justin coming over?" i ask, and she shrugs.
"he's with maejor." avery shrugs. "they're only here for a couple of hours, we can go out if you want to."
"i'm going out, you can stay here with your boo." i chuckle. "finna go finesse some fine ass boy."
"thank god." avery grumbles. "and it better not be some dude from instagram."
"not going through that shit again." i roll my eyes. someone had knocked at the door, me looking at her. "you tell me they're coming as soon as they're on the front porch?"
"he just told me, sorry."
avery stood up from my bed and started to walk downstairs. groaning, i walked into the bathroom to wash the face mask off. as i was, i heard faint voices but it wasn't just maejor and justin. "oh for fucks sa-"
"hey, boo." i saw za leaning on the wall by the door. "what the hell is on your face?"
"a face mask." i laugh, continuing to wash it off. when i finished, i dried my face off, then za grinned. "what are you smiling for?"
"okay before you go downstairs i have to tell you this." za puts his hands on my shoulders. "we were flying out to virginia but maejor wanted to come to pittsburgh to see avery and see if she wanted to go. instead of flying, we're driving down there now since we're close."
"you're telling me this, why?"
"hailey's downstairs."
i admit, i was pretty pissed she was downstairs but i didn't really care. "i don't care." i shrug. "as long as you're all leaving."
"rude." he puts his hand on his chest.
"you know what i meant."
when i walked downstairs, i saw everyone crowded around. chuckling, i walked into the kitchen, then i heard my name being called. avery walked in moments later. "you don't mind if i go to virginia with them, right?"
"not at all." i shake my head as i open the fridge. i really needed to go shopping. sighing, i stand up and turned around to see justin walking in, holding my headphones.
"here." he hands them to me. "the necklace is there too."
"uh, okay." i shrug, unraveling the necklace from around the headphones. to say the least, that small interaction might've been the most awkwardest thing in my life.
"i can put it on for you if you want me to." he reaches for the necklace before i could even say no. sighing, i allow him to put the necklace on, trying to ignore the fact he was so goddamn close to me and his hands kept grazing against my skin.
"justin, come on! avery's ready!"
justin let the necklace fall into place around my neck then he walked away without another word spoken. avery had walked in. "i saw that."
"okay, and?"
"just because you still have feelings for him doesn't mean you just let him do the smallest thing just to be close to him."
"he offered to put it on and before i could even say no, he already took it from me." i roll my eyes, grabbing my headphones. "just leave, avery."
she stood there watching me walk away. when i got upstairs, i took the necklace off and threw it somewhere where i wouldn't find it until i move out which is never. when i heard the front door slam shut, i started crying. honestly don't know what i was crying for, but i cried.
audrey: cousin, come out with me tonight
lay: when and where
audrey: come over and we can figure that out
