instead of panicking, i called her. she answered with a groggy and lazy, "hello?"

"audrey, where are you?"

"someone offered me a ride."

"did you say no?" now i was panicking.

"yes, i was about to call avery until you called."

"im in new york audrey. i'm coming to pick you up." i say, standing up. "send me your location."

"i thought you didn't come until tomorrow." she mumbles. "well, later today."

"i lied, i didn't want you to think i was stalking you. i actually do have a concert, but ... it's not important." i sigh. "send me your location, audrey then hang up and ca-"

"no, don't hang up!" she had rushed. "i feel safe with you around even though you're physically not here. stay on just until you get here?"

"okay, but get inside." i say. "i don't want anything happening to you."
