Chapter 8

Me, Tbnr, Ender, and Sierra spend over three hours going through anything we could find on Herobrine's brothers, Notch and Steve. We're sitting on a bench outside my house when Herobrine walks out. We look at each other silently asking if the other is picking up that something's up. I get up and walk over to where he was standing. "Hey there Herobrine. How are you feeling?" I ask since Tbnr and Sierra are talking to Ender about Steve and Notch. He looks down and starts walking away. I grab his wrist and yank Herobrine around to face me. The others are watching now. "Please just tell me what is wrong. I can't stand when you act so strange." I nearly yell.

He does something I don't expect. Herobrine pulls me into a hug. "I remember everything and I don't blame you or the others. I... I don't want you guys to get hurt." Herobrine says barely above a whisper. The others inch closer to listen better. "We can take care of ourselves. Besides me, Tbnr, Sierra, and Ender want to help. So your stuck with us." I say, doing what I don't know I had the courage too. I kiss Herobrine's check. I pull away and we all get to work. "Before we ask about how your brothers left you, where's Emma, Jason, and the rest of them Kitty?" Sierra asks. "They're on their way to the city a little ways from here. They'll be fine I'm sure." I say.

I go inside and bring out some chicken sliders for us to eat. I get comfortable and give Herobrine the go ahead to start talking. "It all started when me, Notch, and Steve were kids.We.. had been close before we hit teenhood. Always playing whatever games kids played. A little after my fifteenth birthday, we came home to see our family's house ablaze." He says. Herobrine stops to take a sip of his drink. "You don't have to continue if you don't want to Herobrine." Tbnr says. "It's fine." He replies.

Herobrine places the glass down. "So while Steve and Notch were running around like chickens without their heads, I tried to get our parents out. The doors had gotten jammed so nothing could be done. The last thing my mother and father said was to not give up and they loved me and my brothers. The house exploded in fire. I ran down to see a few friends of Notch and Steve's with them. Their friends nearly killed me that night and my brothers left me there.. alone." Herobrine finishes, unable to look any of us in the face. "It wasn't your fault. Surely they wouldn't do that on purpose." Ender says.

I look at the time. Nearly nine pm. "Guys let's get some rest. We can talk more in the morning." After Ender, Tbnr, and Sierra get inside, I get the front gate and walk towards the front door when Herobrine grabs my hand.
"Is something the matter?" I ask, hoping he doesn't see me blushing. "I wanted to thank you for letting me stay in your home. And I.. am so sorry about what ever I said due to the poison." He says. I don't know what made me do it, but I kiss Herobrine. "Come on it's getting late." I say,walking the rest of the way. Herobrine, me, Ender, Tbnr, and Sierra agree to start looking for clues about why Steve and Notch did this in the morning. We all went to our rooms and had a peaceful night.

We all woke up to a bunch of noise outside. Seems like the mayor's daughter and her friends came to visit.
