Chapter 40

I wake up in the morning alone in bed. I sit up, extending my new found wings. Everything seems to be all too quiet until after I get dressed and walk half way down the stairs, voices yelling for some reason outside my house. "Not again." I groan as I grab my sword and run out the door, expecting a fight to be going on. What I am greeted by Hero being held back by Emma and Mark from hitting a friend I haven't seen in forever that is being held back by Derek. "Should I even ask why the heck y'all are fighting?" I say as I cross the short distance to them. Everyone looks at me, acting like nothing was out of the ordinary. "Oh hey Kitty. How are you feeling today?" Mark asks. "Ehh tad sore because of these." I say, pointing at my wings as I flapped my wings a few times. Emma walks up and pokes one of my wings, making me pull away. "Please don't." I say. "Sorry. Just curious about how long you've had those." Emma says while Hero glares at my friend. "So it's been a while hasn't it Reptar." I say with a grin. He smiles back.

"It has. I'm guessing this guy's your guard dog- er I mean boyfriend." Reptar replies with a smirk. Hero glares at Rep but doesn't make any motion as to whether he is going to punch him or not. "Pft. Well these people are some of my friends. The man who held you back is Derek. Those two over there are Emma and Mark." I say, motioning to the three. As Reptar introduces himself to them, Sierra and the rest of the crew walk up to us from the direction of town with bags of food in their arms. "Hi Kitty. What's with the big group outside? Not throwing a party without us I hope." Benny says. I whack him on the arm and introduce him, Sierra, Tb, Ender, Jane, and Katrina to Reptar. "So, why did you choose now to visit Kitty if you knew her before she and her family moved into town?" Emma asks, already suspicious of Reptar's motives."I've been busy. Especially with the increasing amount of people coming into my forge for new weapons to fight off the mobs." Reptar says, shrugging like it was that simple. "Besides, I had some family take over because I needed a vacation."

"You have a forge? Maybe you could tell the people working at the local forge to stop slacking." Tb replies. Everyone starts asking Reptar about the town he comes from as I pull a bottle out of my bag. "Hey guys, why don't we go check on the farms on the other side of town. We could show Reptar around along the way." I suggest with a smile. "Sounds like fun. I haven't been over that in that direction anyways." Benny replies. I wait until the others are in front of me and Rep. I pull my arm back and throw the potion at the ground near Reptar's feet, the effects gender bending him into a girl. "KITTY!?" Reptar yells as I race ahead. "I REGRET NOTHING!!!!!" I yell back. The others run after us all the way to the farms. "Whelp. Welcome to the group then Reptar." Ender says as she, Emma, Mark, Sierra, Benny, Tbnr, Jane, Herobrine, and Katrina catch their breaths. Reptar walks up to me, whacks me in the arm, and laughs. "This happens a lot I take it?" He says.

"More than you think. Along with some other weird stuff." Herobrine says as we start walking around the farms. We fill Reptar in on what's been going on around town and to us whilst he tells us what's been happening near his home over the same time period. "So the increase of hostile mobs and the disappearances of hybrids are because of this Joseph guy?" Reptar says after a long pause. "That's right. We... also lost a good man recently too. Markus I think it was." Mark says as we reach the gates. Reptar goes wide eyed at the name and looks around at us all. "What happened?" He asks. "Explosion. He couldn't get away in time." I say. We all fall silent after that on the way back into town. When we get to the bakery, the sky clouds over and snow starts falling. "Not me this time!" I exclaim when Emma looks over at me. Reptar pulls out his sword and looks around. "Something doesn't feel right." He says, the potion wearing off at that moment.

"Agreed." Katrina says as she pulls out her weapon as well. Mark, Emma, and the rest pull out their swords while I manage to control the snow enough for us to see. Out of the blurry white comes the sound of foot steps. Then the figure of a man appears in front of us. "Be weary of the ender hybrid with eyes of white. For he is behind this all." He says. "What do you mean sir?" Jane asks, making a show of not wanting to attack. The man doesn't reply as he turns around and disappears into the storm. After a few moments, the snow subsides and the sun comes out full force once again. "I suggest we head back to my place before any more weird guys pop up." I say. No one argues as we head out of town. Emma and Mark head back to their house with Katrina and Jane in tow. "How bout we go to the beach tomorrow guys? To relax and stuff." Benny suggests. "Sounds like fun." Ender replies. I nod in agreement.

I make it through dinner before the sudden dizziness hit. "Kit are you ok?" Reptar asks when he sees me flop onto the couch. "I feel dizzy. Not sure why." I reply. "Maybe we should all head off. It might just be that your tired." Reptar says after getting Benny, Ender, and Tbnr to head off. "You should head off too." Herobrine says to Reptar after a few minutes. "It's fine. If stuff like what happened earlier is going on, someone needs to keep guard. I'll stay in here tonight." Reptar replies as he puts his sword on his lap. Hero nods as he goes upstairs. "Good night Reptar. See you in the morning." I say, hugging Reptar before going upstairs to go to bed as well.
