Hidden Sadness

She went to school happy,
Everyone thought she had it all,
With a smile on her face,
As she raced through the hall.

But she went home sad,
With tears in her eyes,
Cuts on her wrist,
She was living a lie.

But everyone believed her,
Until her last dying breath,
When they finally realized,
All she wanted was her death.

Everyone was shocked,
But what can they say?
They never said anything,
It got worse everyday.

They thought she had it all,
Then we're left to wonder why,
That no one ever noticed,
She had no will to try.

But I guess that's what happens,
When you don't get to know the person within,
Until there's no hope left,
Cause you just looked upon her skin.
