Nightfall Nightmares

3 0 1

When you're little people tell you,
No monsters live beneath your bed,
But I think they forgot to tell you,
They live on top of it instead.

They lurk within your mind,
As they tear apart your soul,
Waiting for you to break,
As their actions go untold.

People tell you you can fix it,
"Just tell them to go away!"
But they've been around so long,
What would you do if they didn't stay?

They've become what's comfortable,
Their unceasing presence in your mind,
You've got to know them so well,
That they've captured you in their bind.

And now they've become strong enough,
To finally leave your bed,
And people around you scold you,
Cause "It's your fault their in your head."

But they forgot to warn you,
And they can no longer see the cracks,
They just see a person,
Whose fragile heart collapsed.
