Yosuga shakily pushed herself up off the ground, coughing heavily. On all fours, she quickly pulled out a kunai and fell onto her back to block an attack from her new teacher. He came from above, his large sword clashing with her much smaller kunai.  After only about a minute of struggle, the sword broke the blade of Yosuga's weapon, quickly reaching her throat. A small gasp fell from her lips as the blade pressed against her neck.

"Dead." Daichi spoke. Yosuga scowled, clenching her teeth as she kicked him off of her. This was the fifth time that week. She quickly made it to her feet. In their two weeks together, Yosuga had learned three new jutsus, had gotten extremely better at taijutsu, and even started to learn the basics of genjutsu. Even with all of this though, she still could barely land one hit on Daichi. It pissed her off.

Daichi yawned and stretched. It was early morning, and they had started training at noon yesterday with one break. They had trained all through the night, mostly because of Yosuga's pestering. She had the burning need to get better, but saw no progress.

"Well kid, you're persistent, I'll give you that." Daichi swung his sword over his shoulder. "And as far as progress goes..."

"I've made none! I'm not getting any better." Yosuga complained.

"You've learned three jutsus in two weeks. That's not something many people can do, so stop being whiny." Daichi rolled his eyes. "I'm actually pretty hungry, so how about we get some food." His face broke into a mischievous smile. "From that nigiri place, maybe." This time, Yosuga rolled her eyes.

"You only want to go there for Emiko." She crossed her arms. Daichi shrugged.

"Well, if you don't want to go..." He turned around and was about to walk off when Yosuga's stomach growled rather loudly. "Oh, so the kaeru does have some human functions."

"Shut up." Yosuga stomped after him, quickly catching up. He ruffled her hair.

"You're buying." Daichi happily added.

"I hate you."

"I know."

"Emiko! How are you?" Daichi leaned on the counter when they got to the nigiri shop.

"Hey, Yosuga! It's been awhile!" Emiko cheerfully greeted Yosuga, completely ignoring Daichi, who seemed to deflate at this.

"It has. How are you?" Yosuga greeted without a smile. Emiko quickly picked up on this.

"Great... How have you been? I heard the Chunnin Exams are going on." She turned away to start on the nigiri.

"Yeah, I'm actually teaching Yosuga a couple things. She's coming along well." Daichi tried again. Emiko looked at him over her shoulder with a skeptical look.

"You teach?" She questioned doubtfully.

"I do now." Daichi winked. "You know, I could probably teach you a few things-"

"Oh really?" Emiko placed her hands on her hips, turning to him fully.

"Not-Not that you need teaching or anything, just some pointers-"

"Pointers?"

"Well, not exactly, I mean-" Yosuga cut him off by pushing some nigiri into his mouth.
