There was one moment with Yosuga that Naruto would never forget. It was back when they were younger, near the end of their academy days. Yosuga had been training as usual in one of the training grounds. Naruto nervously came up to her and asked if she wanted to spar with him. She accepted, which surprised him.
She beat him mercilessly.
Naruto insisted that he had gone easy on her, repeating it numerous times. Yosuga insisted it was because she was simply stronger than him. Naruto refused to believe that. He knew she was strong, but he was the strongest!
"I wanna go again! I'll definitely beat you this time!" He argued, getting in a fighting position. Yosuga simply looked at him with a bewildered expression. She didn't understand how someone could still be so defiant after being defeated completely. A smile formed on her face as she stared at him. Her shoulders shaking, she threw her head back as she laughed. Naruto loosens up, looking at her with a confused expression. This was very uncharacteristic of her, and rather foreign to him as he had only seen her stoic and cold. "Yosuga?"
She wrapped her arms around her stomach, falling to her knees. She wasn't exactly sure what was so funny. Maybe she found it funny how easily she had beat him, or maybe it was that he was so ready to be beaten again. Or maybe it was just Naruto himself, but soon her laughter died off and she laid against the ground, looking up at the sky as the sun began to set. She looked at Naruto with a small smile on her face, and he couldn't help but blush.
He always found her quite strange. She wasn't like all the other girls, and he wasn't sure if that was good or bad. Her abrasive demeanor made it hard to approach her, but she was so cool. Maybe that's why he's liked her for as long as he could remember. He liked Sakura too, but as he got closer to Yosuga, it was hard to keep the same feelings for the pinkette. At least Yosuga would let him talk to her.
"Thanks, Naruto." Yosuga whispered, closing her eyes. It was then that Naruto realized how stressed she must have been this entire time. He didn't know much about her, but he knew she had a lot to live up to and it wasn't anywhere near easy. He didn't understand much, but he was glad he could relieve her of this pressure even if it was just for a moment. She looked so relaxed compared to every other time he's seen her. She always looked upset or angry, but now she looked somewhat content. Naruto wondered how long it's been since she's felt like this.
Naruto laid down next to her, and they watched as the sun disappeared from the sky, together.
