Tonight we are having dinner at my parent's house. More like a homecoming get together for me. We wore casual clothes and headed to my parent's. CJ kept fussing, he's cranky because him and Ciara been up all morning with me running errands. He'll calm down when we get there though.

"I can't wait to see my parents." I said

"When's the last time you saw them?"

"When I graduated from college. We talked on the phone everyday basically but that isn't the same."

"I understand how you feel. I finally get to meet your parents though." Chris said

When we get to my parents, we sat out on the porch while Chris played with CJ in the snow. Ciara wasn't feeling well today, so she's in the house watching TV.

"You two made that little boy?" My Mom asked

"Yes Mom." I laughed

"I thought I told you no sex before marriage?" My Dad said

"Things took a turn, but we are getting married."

"When?" My Mom asked

"We haven't set a date yet."

"I thought I raised you better than this Aaliyah."

"Michael, chill. We weren't married when we had Shad." My Mom said

"This is different. My little girl had a baby with a man she's not married to."

"Chris, make sure CJ doesn't eat the snow."

"I'm gonna go check on this child. Ya'll want some tea?" My Mom asked

"Sure Mommy."

"Sure honey." My Dad said

"You know Carmelo moved back? He's a decent man." My Dad said

"He did?" I asked surprised

"Yeah. He just got traded from Denver."

"He always said he wanted to play for the Knicks growing up. How is he doing by the way?"

"Fine." My Mother said walking out with some cups of Tea

"He's making real money." My Daddy said

"Michael, the boy just got married 3 years ago." My Mom said

"He did?" I asked shocked

"Yeah. He has a 6 year old son and baby girl he cut his braids." My Mom said sipping her Tea

"Well that's good for him. I knew he would make it."

When I was in younger me and Carmelo were like the best of friends. When we were Sophmores in high school, we started gainging feelings for eachother. With him wanting to play ball and getting a scholarship at Syracuse, I got one in Detroit. I decided that I didn't want a long distance relationship. So that's what happened. There was an awkward moment of silence before my Mom said something.

"I see Chris and CJ have a bond."

"Yes. He loves that boy to pieces." I said

"When can I expect more?" My Mom asked as I choked on my Tea

"Diane." My Daddy said in a stern voice

"Are you okay sweetie?" My Mom asked me

"Yeah. I'm fine." I said catching my breath

"So when can I expect more grandchildren?"

"What about Shad?" I asked

"What about me?" He asked walking up

"Your sister wants you to have a baby." My Daddy said as Chris walked up with CJ

"Mommy.!!" CJ said

"Hey baby boy." I said rubbing his curly hair

"What up Chris?" Rashad greeted

"What up?" Chris said

After doing a little talking Chris, Rashad and My Daddy went to have their manly talk while I helped my Mommy in the kitchen with dinner.

We were downstairs in the basement watching Basketball talking about stuff, but the one that stood out the most was when Mr. Haughton got on the subject of Carmelo Anthony.

"Melo sure has changed from growing up in Brooklyn." Rashad said

"That boy still stuck with his roots too."

"You know Liyah used to date him right?" Rashad asked me

"No sir. Never heard." I answered

"They were bestfriends growing up, and their Sophmore year they started dating."

I don't know why he was telling me this, I could care less about who Aaliyah dated because she's mine now.

"Aaliyah, my fiancé, dated Carmelo Anthony?" I asked

"Yes she did." Mr. Haughton said

"They broke up cause they were going to different colleges." Rashad said

"Cool. I mean they were cool." I said

"Daddy, Mommy wants you." Aaliyah came down."

"Alright sweetie." Mr. Haughton got up

"Hey, what ya'll talking bout?" Aaliyah asked me

"You dated Melo?" I asked

"A long time ago." She said, "Did my Daddy tell you this?" She asked

I ain't answer her question, she turned to Rashad and asked him the same question.

"Why'd you let Daddy bring up Mel?"

"You know Pop ain't gonna listen to me." He said

"I swear you and Daddy are just ugh." She exclaimed

"What's wrong baby girl?" Mr. Haughton asked coming down the stairs

"I thought we were over Carmelo Daddy?" She asked

"You are, but I'm not." He said looking at me

"When are you gonna stop living in the past and accept the fact that I'm with Chris?" She yelled, "Come on Chris." She pulled me up the stairs

"Why you tripping?" I asked

"Cause, I'm tired of him bring Carmelo up."

"I ain't tripping off of him." I said

"I don't care. He's always talking about Carmelo." She sighed

"Chill out bae. I ain't tripping." I said hugging her, "I love you." I kissed her forehead

"I love you too." She said
