That was the longest night that Bri has ever had to endure. She hadn't left the hospital at all. How could she to be honest..Her son was still there, hooked up to those cold, heartless machines, but in a weird sort of way it made Bri feel at ease. They were what's keeping him going right now, the fact that he basically had a heart attack just dug a hole in Bri's head that seriously was not going to heal anytime soon. She had fallen asleep on the floor, back against the wall as Bryan's bootleg ass took the chair. That's..actually okay, Bryan had a bad neck, he needed support as for Bri, she wasn't all that injured, just emotionally demolished from all of this now. It was around seven in the morning, sleep came very late for the two concerned parents, probably collectively getting four hours of sleep. As soon as the sun broke into the room, Bri's eyes peeled open and she got on her knees, resting her hands on the window sill and her chin on her hands. She stared into the room where her baby boy was being kept away, it killed her to not be able to just rub his soft little hair and hum little melodies to him and ensure him it would all go away soon. She whimpered quietly before Bryan slowly began to stir, out of pure instinct, he looked at Bri's bum, shaking his head a literal moment later he squirmed in the chair a little bit, "When did you wake up?" Bryan scooted towards the edge of the chair and looked at Bri who slowly turned around to face him. "I've been up for about ten minutes or so. Can't really sleep too comfortably on the floor.." Bri softly giggled, the two had a history..that was an understatement, and they both have slept on the floor, together, but times change. A woman poked her head inside the room and smiled, "Mrs. Danielson?" Bri looked up at her and nodded before standing on her feet, "Yes?" The woman pulled a cart from the hallway filled with breakfast foods and nice hot coffee. Bri was a little confused by this random act of kindness, but, "Thank you!" Nonetheless came out.
Bryan was also confused, "Wonder who this is from, Nikki maybe? I don't even remember her leaving to be honest.." Bri shrugged as she grabbed the folded up card that was sitting on the side of the cart. She flipped it over as it simply read, 'Eat up, you two need it. -Uce' So it was Josh..that was so sweet of him to buy the two food like this, and out of the clear blue sky like that. "It was from Josh, he bought us food cause he figured we haven't even left yet. He's a pretty good guesser type guy like that." She chuckled softly and felt butterflies fill her belly, Josh never seemed to fail at making her feel like a million bucks. Bryan shimmied off the chair, "Here, you sit. I've had it all night, your back has gotta be killing you." Bri was sore due to..other reasons, not including the way she was sitting all night. That hadn't bothered her, it was her activities leading up to going to the hospital that had her body all sore. But Bri did oblige him and got into the rather comfy chair and smiled over at her soon to be ex husband. "Thank you Bryan.." The cart was pulled towards them both by Bryan and they slowly began to eat some food. It was an awkward type of silence. For about a thousand reasons. Including the fact that Bri had cheated on him..again last night. The fight at work, the announcement that Bri wanted a divorce, the fact that their only son was strung up in the hospital for a reason that was just, so far out of this world it almost seemed fictitious..All of this was happening so fast it was incredible that it even started out that way in the first place to be perfectly honest. The awkward silence lasted just a little while longer before Bryan simply had to break it, "So..Are you gonna be able to call in tonight?" His voice was filled with curiosity and somehow..dread lingered in it as well. Bri thought about it for a long, long moment.
"You know I can't do that Bryan..With all of this going on? I need the money to help pay for this, what we talked about last night, a new place, all of that stuff has to go on and I need money to do it.." In typical Bri fashion, she had no filter on at all, she shouldn't have worded it the way that she did, but she was so far done with being kind to him it was insane. Even though Blake was like this, it didn't change the fact that he probably had anxiety issues due to Bryan's fits of rage and physical abuse, more importantly the mental abuse would cripple a small child. So Bri being nice? Not gonna happen so easily, "I'm sorry, but I just can't do that." Bri looked back into the room for a single moment to see Blake again, god this was gonna be the longest day in history. Why the hell was he still sleeping so long? She knew that even after he woke up Bryan would be the knight in shining armor to pick him up and take him home..But it just occurred to her that he would have to hop on a plane..Oh hell no. "Oh, and by the way, you're not taking him back to Phoenix when he wakes up..He needs a day or two to just relax before getting on a plane." Bri was firm in her tone and Bryan simply nodded to avoid an altercation between the two, he didn't wanna fight with her anymore but he didn't know where to start apologizing. It was far too late for all that crap anyways, if he did, Bri wouldn't listen to it, she would obviously have to. But when it comes to forgiveness? That day had long but passed by them. "I won't, he just has to relax his little head a bit. He should be clear to leave today, well that's what the nurse told me.." Bri looked back at Bryan and had a sort of sassy/sarcastic expression on, "How? He hasn't even woken up yet Bryan. How the hell can some nurse just say that he's gonna be well enough to go home??" Bryan recognized that tone in her voice all too well. He knew that was a fighting tone and wanted to avoid amplifying it at all costs, "No no, Bri, I mean if he wakes up..Sorry, I'm quite tired.." And just before she could speak, who else but Nikki pokes her head into the doorway yet again to save the awkward tension.
