Chapter 6

Jack's Pov

After Scar went to her room, I went and I sat outside. I didn't mind the cold. It didn't effect me.

It was while I was sitting outside that one of Pitch's monsters attacked me. I stood and I ran at the monster. I shot frost at it and all it did was annoy it. Damn it. I needed Scarlet.

Oh my god.

Scarlet!!

She could be in trouble!

I turned to leave but the monster landed in front of me and blocked my way.

From inside I heard a "Jack!" and I knew it was Scar. I got angry and I shot a big blast of ice and frost at the monster. I had made it fall and I shot another and it growled.

I braced myself as it stood. It ran at me and I at it. I swung my staff and turned it into a frosty solid statue. I smiled and smashed it. I ran inside and I ran to Scar's room.

I gasped as the window was smashed and she was gone. North came and he was holding his swords.

"What happened. What is news?" He said.

"Pitch attacked again. Scar's gone." I said.

We called the others and we told them what had happened.

"Crikey. Do you think Pitch took her?" Bunny said.

"Gee I don't know why else he'd come here Kangaroo!" I said sarcastically.

He glared at me and was about to say something when Tooth said something.

"He has a point. Do you think he did? Maybe she got away." She said.

"She did. And she is right here."

We all spun around and we saw Scar standing there with her bow slung across her back.

Scarlet's Pov

"He has a point. Do you think he did? Maybe she got away." I heard Tooth say as I walked around the corner.

Sandy saw me and tried to get their attention but was not successful.

I smiled and I said "She did. And she is right here."

They all spun around and I grinned.

"Scar!" Jack said.

He looked so happy to see me and to be honest. I was really glad to see him too.

"What happened?" Bunny asked.

I sighed and I said "Pitch attacked. I had almost passed out because I used all of the elements at once, which I might add, I have never done before, and I went through my window and hid deep in the snow until I got my energy back."

"We need to think of something to stop Pitch." Tooth said.

"Tooth is right. Or he will keep learning from his mistakes and mini fails of getting his hands on Scar." North said.

"And with each time he comes and we win he knows what to do better next time. And sooner or later he will defeat us and take Scarlet." Jack said.

I frowned and I said "So what if he does?"

They all looked at me.

Sandy made a question mark.

"I don't need to be babied and guarded. I'm not even a guardian! I saved you guys once and now you think I need to be protected." I said.

"That's not the case, Mate." Bunny said.

"You are a part of our family." North said.

I sighed and I said "I will help you defeat Pitch. But after that. I'm gone."

They all looked at me and Tooth said "We cannot force you to stay here."

I nodded and we all went our ways.

"Scar." I looked and I saw Jack standing there.

"Can I talk to you?" He asked.

I nodded and he came and he stood in front of me.

I looked into his icy blue eyes and waited for him to start.

"Please don't leave after we defeat Pitch." He said.

I sighed and said "Jack-"

He held up a finger and said "I'm not finished."

I closed my mouth and he said "I don't want you to leave. Ever since you saved us in the forest, I felt a connection. Then I spent more time with you as we looked for Pitch. I didn't care if we didn't find him. As long as I was with you. I was ok with whatever came after."

I looked at him and he put his staff down and he took my hands in his. They were cold at first but it didn't feel cold. In fact, they felt soft. I looked from his eyes and back to his eyes.

"I feel stronger when I'm with you. I don't feel as alone anymore. You have filled a space in me that I thought was to be forever empty." He said.

"What are you saying?" I asked him softly.

He smiled and he said "What I'm saying is that.......I love you Scarlet."

He leaned forward and I didn't realize that he was even that close. I closed my eyes and I felt his lips touch mine.

I took a step closer and pressed myself closer. He cupped my face with his hands and I wrapped my arms around his neck and my fingers played with his hair. His hands made their way down to my waist and gently pulled me closer. I felt his lips leave mine and he kissed my neck and cheek. 

Moving as one, we moved down the hall, him still kissing me, and we went into his room and I closed his door and we fell onto his bed. I smiled and I cuddled closer to him. We laid there, his arms wrapped around me.

I looked up at him and I said "I love you too."
