I woke up. I couldn't believe I wasn't cuddled with Robin, like I was in my dreams. I had ended whatever it was we had.

I'd tried to pretend to be sick the day before to skip school but it hadn't worked.

I stepped into the class. The worst part about this was that I had to sit next to him. How would I resist the urge of kissing his soft lips, of touching his perfect face, of crying because we couldn't be together? But surprisingly he wasn't at school. I sat quietly and opened my book. Everybody was talking around me. I started folding the corner of the cover of my book. Suddenly Aby strode towards me.

"Hey!" she cried.

"Hey..." I muttered.

"Rumor has it there's a new guy! I heard he's cute...you interested?"

The teacher walked into the classroom and presented the new guy to us. I didn't hear much, just that his name was Roy and that he came from California.

"So you will sit next to... let's see...you need a good example, someone who can show you how things are in here...You'll sit next to Mary!"

I jumped. "Excuse...mhh...Robin already sits next to me"

"Yeah, well he will sit somewhere else. He has improved in maths anyway..."

I wanted to cry. Actually, I wanted to run into Robin's arms and kiss him, tell him I loved him so much I didn't care if Aby was in love with him too. But I couldn't.

"Hi!" a voice exclaimed next to me. I turned and saw Roy.

"Hi."

"Nice bracelet."

"Thanks" I mumbled. He was a blonde tall boy, certainly cute. He had a few freckles on his nose, and dark brown eyes. His lips were thin and pale pink. "So, California? Sounds like a nice place..." I said.

"Yes, it is. Have you ever been to California?"

"Nope." I slided my arm and knocked the book off my table. "Oops." We both bent down to grab it but he got it first and handed it to me.

"Thanks..."

"You're welcome..."

"Mary"

"Mary. Nice name." I giggled.

"So did you like your old school?"

"Nah. I mean, I liked it, but it was a boys-only high school. It was kinda boring."

"I see..."

"I think I'll like it here. I'm pretty good at math and..."

"You too?" I smiled "Ugh! Finally! I'm good at math too but no one in here is! I had to teach my best friend and then Ro...uhm...well..so, good I don't have to teach you too." Robin again. But I couldn't think about him anymore. It was time to move on.

I was heading back home. There weren't many people on the street. I was thinking of the new guy. He seemed like a nice guy. He was really gentle and kind. I was kinda surprised he had already made lots of friends. I had heard some guys talking about him and saying he was a 'cool dude'. He had been nice to talk to and a great distraction from Robin. But I still missed him.
