I was on the phone with Aby.
"Yes, your parents called me and asked for you." She said.
"What did you tell them?"
"I covered for you. You spend the night with Roy didn't you?" She asked excitedly.
"Uhm..."
"Oh my god! You did!" She screamed.
I was at school, taking stuff out of my locker. I had a strong headache.
Robin was talking to Aby. He was pretty serious and moved his hands up and down. I couldn't look at this. She was crying. I felt awful! How could I have ever done this to her?
She strode quickly towards me, her eyes showing pain and hate.
"I...can't believe it. I hate you Mary. I hate you!" She cried angrily and pushed me. I bumped hard into the locker. When I opened my eyes she had already gone."
"What was all that about?" A familiar voice said. No. Please, don't let it be him. I turned and saw Roy standing next to me, his big innocent eyes shining. "And what happened? I called you like seven times! Where did you go? Why didn't you answer any of my calls?"
"Uhm...I...uhm..." A nauseous feeling suddenly came to me. The room was spinning. I had to tell him. Come on. Just say it. Say it. It's easy. Just open your mouth and say it. I took a deep breath and calmed down. "I cheated on you."
He opened his mouth in surprise and frowned. "Wha...? What are you...?"
"I'm sorry. I really am." He started crying. I had never seen Roy cry before. His face was red but he didn't move. He just stood there, crying and staring at me.
"You...? Who with?"
"Uhm...Robin." His eyes opened even more. He pressed his hand angrily. But he kept on standing there.
"Do you regret it?"
"What?"
"Do you regret it?"
"Roy...I really don't think..."
"Do. You. Regret. It?"
"No." I finally said. "I'm sorry... I don't." Those words hit him. They really did. He opened his schoolbag took a small wrapped box from it and threw it to the trash angrily. Then he just walked away. I felt terrible. I picked up the box from the trash and opened it. Inside, there was a necklace with a big circle in the middle. I opened it and inside, was a picture of Roy and me. We were sitting together in the café near school. Suddenly, a tear fell on top of it. I was crying. I may love Robin but Roy was my friend. And now I had lost him. I had lost Aby too. I had lost them.
